Ameztoi’s Rubentis is a classic coastal rosé from the Basque Country, made from equal parts Hondarrabi Zuri and Hondarrabi Beltza grown on steep hillside vineyards above the fishing village of Getaria. The vines are trained high off the ground on traditional trellising, helping them catch the ocean breeze and retain freshness.

What sets this wine apart is the role of Hondarrabi Beltza. While many growers pulled out these red vines in the early 2000s, the Ameztoi family kept theirs, and that decision shows in the glass. It brings a little more depth, energy, and character than you’d expect, while still keeping the bright, lifted style that makes this wine so easy to come back to.
