Why You'll Love It

The Orien Oval Bezel Engagement Ring is the most universally flattering solitaire in our collection — a 1.00 ct oval cut lab-grown diamond held in a full bezel setting that wraps the stone completely in solid 14K gold. The oval cut combines the brilliance of a round diamond with the elongating elegance of a fancy shape: its rounded, symmetrical form has no sharp edges or vulnerable points, making it the most wearable of all diamond cuts. The bezel frames that form with a smooth, continuous gold border that protects the stone completely while amplifying its extraordinary fire. The slim, high-polish band disappears on the finger, leaving only the diamond — wide, luminous, and impossibly elegant.

Why Oval Cut?

The oval cut is the most popular fancy shape diamond for a reason: it delivers the brilliance of a round diamond in a silhouette that elongates the finger and appears larger face-up than a round of equivalent carat weight. Its symmetrical, curved form has no sharp edges or vulnerable points — it is the most forgiving shape to wear and the most universally flattering on the hand. In a bezel setting, the oval's smooth perimeter is perfectly complemented by the continuous gold frame, creating a seamless, organic silhouette that is unlike any other ring.

Why Bezel?

The bezel setting is the most protective setting in fine jewelry — the diamond is completely surrounded by a rim of gold, eliminating the risk of prong snags or stone loss. For an oval cut specifically, the bezel creates a seamless visual flow between stone and metal that emphasizes the shape's natural elegance. It is the setting of choice for active wearers, minimalist aesthetics, and anyone who wants their engagement ring to look as beautiful in ten years as it does today.

Our Story

In our Queens atelier, the Orien was designed around the oval cut's defining quality: its completeness. There are no corners to catch, no points to protect, no edges to snag. The oval is a closed form — self-contained, self-sufficient, endlessly graceful. The bezel was chosen to honor that completeness — to frame the stone with an equally continuous border of gold. Named for Orion, the most recognizable constellation in the sky — brilliant, balanced, and impossible to miss — the Orien is a ring that announces itself quietly and stays with you forever.

Styling & Stacking

The Orien's oval silhouette is most powerful worn solo — the stone's width and brilliance fill the finger completely. If stacking, pair with an ultra-thin diamond eternity band in a matching metal, worn flush against the bezel's smooth edge. In white gold, the oval reads cool and contemporary, the diamond's fire appearing almost blue-white. In yellow gold, it takes on a warm, vintage-adjacent richness that suits the oval's classic proportions. In rose gold, it is romantic and deeply feminine — the warm metal wraps the stone in a softness that is uniquely beautiful.

Simplistic and Inappropriate
Format: Paperback
I was hoping this book would provide insights into how to present complex information in a more comprehensible, useful format, using PowerPoint as the tool. Instead, the overall gist of this book is that presentations should be "dumbed down" as much as possible. The theme the author presents is that presentations should be story based. This is reasonable. However, the method the author recommends is that essentially *all* meaningful, complex (or, as the author prefers "boring") content be removed from the presentation. Presentations then become nothing more than catchy headlines and colorful graphics. All content should be in the presenter's notes (not typically to be provided). This is juvenile and useless and frankly reflects a complete lack of understanding of how presentations are made in a complex business environment.

On the right track
Format: Paperback
This book is a good introduction about how to use story-telling techniques in PowerPoint presentations. There are some good ideas here that you won't find in technical manuals. If you don't know film techniques these will be eye-opening. But the book could have been much stronger if it were to push these concepts to the next level. I saw a PowerPoint presentation with Andy Goodman, who teaches more or less the same thing, and his presentation nailed these concepts more cleanly than this book does. But again, this book is definitely worth checking out if you haven't studied storytelling before.

An Essential
Format: Paperback
I've created PowerPoints for executives in major corporations and national non-profits for years now, and this is one of the first books I suggest anyone who needs to create their own PowerPoint look to. Beyond Bullet points is accessable enough that the novice PowerPoint user can understand what's going on and use the lessons in his or her next presentation; it's also detailed and challenging enough that even an old salt like me can find things to learn and do. Don't be another person who stands on stage reading their PowerPoint, and don't let reading your slides distract the audience from your presentation; follow the suggestions in this book and wow your audience.
