The Unchained is a purpose built kit. 3.0" 2-Tube Front Kings and 4-Tube Bypass rear 3.0" shocks are paired with fabricated coil buckets, 4.5" lift multi-rate coil springs and Full Leafs in the rear for unsurpassed off-road capability from a bolt-on suspension system. A roll cage should be considered at this level of suspension.

If you're looking for the best on road ride offered by Carli with a huge boost in off-road capability, grab a Dominator. If you're after a suspension that will allow more off-road performance than the chassis to which it's bolted, this is your huckleberry. With the Unchained Suspension System, Carli recommends a roll cage and axle truss. This system is far more capable off-road than even the Coilover-Bypass System.

CARLI UNCHAINED SUSPENSION SYSTEM COMPONENTS

The truck will sit 4.5" higher in the front and have more wheel travel thanks to the taller, Progressive Rate Coil Springs that mount into the Fabricated Carli Spring Buckets. Radius Arm Drop Brackets reset the pivot point and keep the travel linear for the best ride while Sway Bar Drop Brackets reset the sway bar engagement point. The included Bump Stop Drops protect the shocks from over-compressing while the Adjustable Track Bar centers the front axle and Stainless Brake Lines firm up braking and ensure there is enough line for the newfound travel. To round off the front end, you'll also receive Caster Shims to tighten the steering.

REAR LEAF SPRINGS

The rear is outfitted with a Full Progressive Spring Pack requiring no block to achieve proper ride height; thus, travel is extended and wheel hop/axle wrap minimized at the cost of 15% less load capacity than a stock F-250. If capacity is a concern, upgrade with Long Travel Airbags to restore the payload capacity to that of a SRW F-350.

FULL PROGRESSIVE LEAF SPRING KIT SPECIFICATIONS:

This System has been optimized for use with the Full Progressive Leaf Springs. This system is also compatible with the Progressive Add-a-Packs but there will be a notable ride quality difference on and off-road. Selecting "NO Rear Leaf Spring Selection" will result in an unknown ride quality and height result as all Carli Systems are optimized to Progressive Leaf Springs.

  • Block eliminating
  • Light 3/4 ton capacity, full capacity attainable with long travel airbags
  • Includes new u-bolts and rear bump stop drops
  • Provides a 1" rear high stance on matching 4.5" suspension systems
  • 3.5" axle tube

CARLI TUNED KING 3.0" BYPASS SHOCKS

This system boasts Carli Signature tuned, King 3.0" 2-Tube Front and 4-Tube Rear Piggy-Back Bypass Shocks so large, Carli needed to fabricate custom mounts to fit them; as the old adage goes, there's no replacement for displacement. The 3.0" shock has a piston surface area 45% greater than a 2.5" King and 126% larger than a factory 2.0" shock making it far more efficient in all situations. Additionally, as explained above, they've added bypass tubes to this pinnacle off-road system. The massive surface area and bypass tubes ensure you'll achieve unmatched off-road performance while receiving a civil controlled on-road ride. To fit these shocks, included are fabricated mounts that lift the upper mounting point and position the shock away from the frame while the standard bump stop extensions were shortened to allow for more up-travel to compliment the additional down-travel from the longer shock. In an effort to provide you with the best product, Carli designed a custom piston to determine proper base flow rates to ensure the shock works well in the heavy duty truck platform; the shocks were then tuned based on seat-of-the-pants feel. ALL of Carli's King shocks are rounded off with shafts machined and polished from a solid piece of 17-4 Stainless. Unlike King's standard shafts, there is no coating to wear off, weather is far less likely to hurt them and if there is a small chip, you can round the edges with emery cloth to ensure the seal housing isn't damaged as they're not brittle like the stock, hardened shafts. The shocks are finished with King oil good to -55° F. Note that all King shocks are built with a plated steel body. If subjected to inclement weather for extended periods, Carli recommends wrapping your shocks in 3M to provide a moisture barrier that's replaceable.

WHEEL AND TIRE FITMENT

As with the Coilover Bypass, it's recommended that users purchase a Differential Guard for axle protection, High Mount Steering Stabilizer to keep the steering as controlled as the suspension and Fabricated Radius Arms for strength and Limit Strap mounting. Again, at this level of suspension, a roll cage and axle truss is also recommended if the system will be used to its full off-road potential. On the 4.5" Bypass equipped Ford Systems, Carli recommends 17"-18" wheels, no more than 9" wide with 4.5"-5" of backspacing with a 37", E-Rated Tire. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
  • WHEELS: Carli Recommends a 17"-18" Wheel, no more than 9" wide with 5" of Backspacing on 4.5" Lift Systems.
  • TIRES: 37", E-Rated Tire Fitment is Recommended. Recommended unloaded Tire Pressure 45F/40R
  • RECOMMENDED CONFIGURATION: Carli 4.5" Systems are Designed and Tested on Vehicles with 17"-18" Wheels with 37", E-Rated Tires. Stock wheels and tires or running a larger wheel diameter will result in a stiffer ride.
  • REAR DRIVESHAFT Trucks equipped with a 2 piece driveshaft will require CS-CARRIERDROP-F to ensure proper driveline angles.
NO LEAF SPRING OPTION NOTES:
  • Diesel Power Products and Carli strongly suggest the use of either options available. These options are designed to work flawlessly with the rest of your kit and, are the best way to go. However, we understand you may already have the necessary provisions and/or products to use with this kit so we give you the option to not include any leaf spring provisions.
NO SWAY BAR OPTION NOTES:
  • Diesel Power Products and Carli strongly suggest the use of either options available. These options are designed to work flawlessly with the rest of your kit and, are the best way to go. However, we understand you may already have the necessary provisions and/or products to use with this kit so we give you the option to not include any sway bar drop or Torsion Sway Bar provisions.

OPTIONAL CARLI ADD ON COMPONENTS

LEAF SPRING SHACKLE SPECIFICATIONS:

Much of the jarring ride of the Super Duty rear can be attributed to the factory vulcanized bushings in the leaf spring pack and shackle. The factory shackle is very strong BUT the design is not conducive to a smooth ride. The Carli shackle is constructed of 1/4″ American cold-rolled steel. The mid-length gusset ensures no deflection while the serviceable bushings offer a far superior ride to the bind of the factory bushings.

  • Greasable and rebuildable
  • Far better ride than factory shackle
  • 1/4" steel construction
  • Fits factory and Carli springs
FABRICATED ADJUSTABLE RADIUS ARMS SPECIFICATIONS:

Icing on the cake, these arms add Additional Tire Clearance, Limit Strap Protection for your Front Shocks, 1/4" Boxed Steel Constructions, Serviceable 17-4 Stainless Spherical Bearings and Adjustable Caster Correction up to 3.5° over stock specs to leave Death-Wobble in the rear-view.

  • 1-4 degrees of adjustable caster correction
  • 3/16 construction, fully internal gusseted with 1/2" additional tire clearance
  • Limit straps kit included
  • Serviceable 17-4 stainless spherical joint at frame connection for longevity and bind free cycling
HIGH MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER SPECIFICATIONS:

Bolt in replacement for the factory stabilizer. Adjustable from 70-200 psi to run neutral (no directional influence at 70psi) or at 200psi to counter the right-hand pull inherent to tires like Toyo Mud Terrains.

  • Stainless Steel
  • Bolt-in replacement for OEM stabilizer
  • Works on leveled and lifted trucks ONLY
  • Will NOT work with dropped pitman arms
LOW MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER WITH DIFFERENTIAL GUARD SPECIFICATIONS:

Bolt in steering stabilizer which compliments a Carli, or factory, high mount stabilizer. Adjustable from 70-200 psi to run neutral (no directional influence at 70psi) or at 200psi to counter the left-hand pull inherent to tires like Nitto Trail Grapplers. Run in conjunction with the Carli High Mount for the ultimate Dual, Opposing Steering Stabilizer combination that's infinitely adjustable.

  • Custom valved for larger tires, adjustable nitrogen pressure
  • Includes differential guard and clamp
  • Combines with high-mount stabilizer for opposing setup
  • Optimized for Carli 2.5-5.5" systems
CARRIER BEARING DROP SPECIFICATIONS:

It's recommend to add this to shim to ALL 2-piece driveshafts (CCLB) to shim the Carrier bearing down alleviating the angle of all joints. If your truck is equipped with a single piece driveshaft, this will not fit and is not required.

  • Drops carrier bearing on 2-piece driveshafts
  • Prevents take-off shudder / driveline vibration
  • Stackable 3/8" shims for 1-4" rear lift

Body wash
A clean, elevated body wash set that gives you two standout scents—Italian Bergamot (fresh, citrusy, clean) and Palo Santo (warm, smoky, masculine). The formula creates a rich lather that cleans without drying your skin, and the layered fragrance makes it feel more high-end than typical body washes. ✔ Two premium scents (fresh + warm options) ✔ Rich lather, non-drying formula ✔ Long-lasting, layered fragrance ❗ Scent is more subtle than cologne ❗ Slightly pricier than basic body wash 👉 Bottom line: A great everyday upgrade perfect if you want a clean, fresh scent or a deeper, more masculine vibe depending on your mood.

"Do this like like this person did
Format: Paperback
I bought this last year at Bethlehem Seminary bookstore in Minneapolis on a bibliophile impulse. It was so remarkable, that I bought multiple copies here on Amazon to give to leaders and fellow-teachers of our children's outreach program at church. For instead of the typical way of teaching bible stories to children, it proposes a different way, one wrapped around the gospel of grace. Most of the time, children are taught the stories of David and Goliath, or Gideon, or whatever, to urge them on to moral behavior. "Do this like like this person did, don't do that like that other person did, and God will bless you". And so kids grow up in the church thinking that this is what the gospel is: do good and you'll gain God's favor. This book instead shows how God has always provided a solution for the wretched consequences of the fall. The writer doesn't recommend we automatically shy away from teaching the difficult stories of the bible, which is so common in children's ministries (like the captivity in Babylon, and the wretched stories in Judges, for instance). Instead, it shows teachers how to teach (AND see for themselves) the mercy of God in each of those bible accounts. It is not a curriculum, though it is very bible literate: for instance, Mr. Klumpenhower points out the not-always-so-obvious parts of a story that point to a coming redeemer. It has practical insights for showing the beauty of God's love and mercy in EVERY bible story, and for those who need further direction and insight, Mr. Klumpenower's website gives curricular-type lesson plans you can use when teaching those stories. In our church now, we continue to use a national bible-memory program that many churches use. But we use this as the outline for our group teaching times. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking to teach the gospel from the scriptures, instead of just from a formula.

Life-Changing; full of truth of how the grace in the Gospel (not mere morality preaching) transforms us
Format: Paperback
This is a life-changing book that put into words so many things that have nagged at the back of my mind about the way we teach the Bible to children. It seems far too many picture Bibles, Sunday school curricula, and parenting books boil the Bible down to "This Bible character did this. You should do/not do this." You could completely remove God and Christ from some of these books/methods and the application would not change: be good. Likewise, as a parent it's too easy to simply use Bible stories as a way to try to manipulate our kids' behavior. To begin with, trying to "be good" without understanding our new life in Christ and the Holy Spirit's enablement is completely futile. This focus on morality apart from the Gospel also helps explain why many church kids grow up and leave the church. If all church gave them was a list of how to behave, but they never truly fell in love with Jesus and understand all he did for them, why stay in church? Klumpenhower maintains that "The cross of Jesus—not principles of good living—is the engine of the Christian life." The gist of this book is that more than anything, kids need to be shown God's character, Jesus' work, and the Holy Spirit's enabling. This, more than any moral lesson, will be what transforms them. "We make a mistake if we think kids are saved by hearing the good news and trusting Jesus, but then grow as Christians some other way." While the Bible does give useful examples, if kids "get Samuel the good listener without first appreciating God the Great Speaker, they're liable to end up relating to God only in an anxious, what-I-must-do way." Klumpenhower gives practical advice for how to teach the Word in a way that points to Jesus and not our own efforts. For example, when teaching Old Testament stories he recommends asking: "1) What is God doing for his people in this story? 2) Good News! How does God do the same for us—only better—in Jesus? 3) Believe it! How does believing this good news change how we live?" Here is an example from teaching about Moses: "What is God doing for his people in this story? He arranges events to protect baby Moses and give the Israelites a leader who will rescue them from Egypt. Good News! How does God do the same for us—only better—in Jesus? He has provided a Leader and Savior who rescues us from sin and death. Believe it! How does believing this good news change how we live? Even when it's hard to see, we can trust that God is working out his plan to complete our salvation." Another great example is how he recommends addressing sin: the surface sin we can see (example: dancing to lewd music), the selfish fear underneath (ex: afraid friends won't like or accept me), and the root unbelief (ex: not believing Jesus gives me God's approval). I'm just scratching the surface of this book. Chapter after chapter is filled with wonderful truth about how the grace given in the Gospel impacts every area of our lives and about how our identity in Christ is what transforms us. I recommend it to anyone who wants to use the Bible as their foundation for living, teaching, and parenting. It's that good. Go read it! If you're intrigued but not sure you can read the whole thing, download the free Kindle sample and at least read the introduction and first chapter; it will give you a good overview. And then you'll probably want to read the rest!
