Pro-Tip: When cutting deep grooves or mortises, never try to cut the full depth in a single pass. To extend the life of your bit and prevent burning the wood, take multiple passes, cutting no deeper than the diameter of the bit (3/8") per pass. This allows for better chip evacuation and a cleaner final result.
