Open back cover plates increase the volume you can achieve while also increasing stability. The edges of the reed plate are rounded off as well to increase comfort for extended periods of playing. You can keep the iconic 1896 blue sound with the pearwood comb, and the two layers of lacquer with a third UltraGlide layer makes a smooth gliding experience. It even comes with a sturdy case which prevents dust from getting into your harmonica while allowing moisture to evaporate.
