Why You'll Love It

The Virel Baguette Cut Diamond Band is the most refined stacking piece in our collection — a 1.8mm solid 14K gold band set 1/3 of the way around with 7 baguette-cut lab-grown diamonds, each one bar-set between clean gold rails that run perpendicular to the band. The baguette cut is the most architectural of all diamond shapes: its rectangular form and step-cut facets produce a clarity and depth of light that round brilliants cannot achieve — long, mirror-like flashes rather than scattered sparkle, a brilliance that is cool, linear, and completely modern. At 1.8mm wide, the Virel Baguette is one of the slimmest diamond bands we make — a band that disappears into a stack and reveals itself only when the light catches the baguettes at the right angle, producing a flash of geometric fire that is entirely unexpected from something so delicate.

The Baguette Cut

The baguette cut — named for the French bread it resembles in shape — is one of the oldest and most sophisticated diamond cuts in fine jewelry. Unlike brilliant cuts, which are designed to maximize sparkle through hundreds of small facets, the baguette's step-cut facets are large, flat, and parallel — producing long, mirror-like flashes of light that move with the hand rather than radiating in all directions. The result is a diamond that reads as cool, architectural, and deeply refined — a stone that rewards attention rather than demanding it. In the Virel Baguette, the rectangular form of each stone is emphasized by the bar setting, which frames each baguette between two gold rails and leaves the long sides of the stone open to the light.

The Bar Setting

The bar setting is the ideal setting for baguette-cut diamonds — it holds each stone securely between two gold rails while leaving the long sides of the stone completely open, maximizing the amount of light that enters and exits the stone. The rails run perpendicular to the band, creating a clean, grid-like pattern across the face of the ring that emphasizes the rectangular geometry of the baguettes. The result is a band that reads as architectural and intentional — each stone a perfect rectangle of light, framed in gold, evenly spaced across the face of the ring.

Why 1.8mm?

1.8mm is the ideal width for a baguette stacking band — slim enough to layer with any other ring in our collection without adding bulk, wide enough to display the baguette stones in their full rectangular form. At 1.8mm, the Virel Baguette is a band that enhances everything it is worn with: it adds diamond fire to a plain gold stack, geometric contrast to a pavé band, and architectural interest to a solitaire engagement ring. It is the stacking band that makes every other ring look better.

Stacking Guide

The Virel Baguette was designed to stack. Its 1.8mm width allows it to sit flush against any other band in our collection without gaps or overlap. Stack it with the plain Virel Hammered Band for texture contrast, with a pavé eternity band for mixed diamond shapes, or with two Virel Baguettes in different metals for a curated, editorial look. The 1/3 setting means the plain gold shank sits comfortably at the base of the finger, making the band as comfortable to wear as a plain gold ring.

Our Story

In our Queens atelier, the Virel Baguette began as a question: what is the most elegant way to put diamonds on a 1.8mm band? The answer was immediate — baguettes, bar-set, 3/4 of the way around. The baguette's rectangular form fills the narrow width of the band completely, edge to edge, with no wasted space. The bar setting holds each stone with minimal metal, maximizing the diamond-to-gold ratio on a band where every fraction of a millimeter matters. The 1/3 setting was chosen for comfort: a fully set band at 1.8mm would be fragile at the base; the plain gold shank provides structural integrity while keeping the diamond presence exactly where it is most visible. Named for the same Old French root as the Virel Hammered Band — that which binds, that which holds — the Virel Baguette is a band built for a lifetime of stacking.

Barely qualifies as a product
Style: 12x10
This thing is a FAIL on so many levels that I can't even begin to describe how bad it is. I bought the 12 x 15 press because I thought it would be fun to have a smaller press at the house that I could use to knock out things like mouse pads and coasters when I didn't feel like going to my studio and using my other machines. What a mistake. Uneven heat is just one of the issues. The biggest problem is that when you pull the arm down instead of the springs, adjusting to any height that might come from a coaster or a mouse pad, the whole heat plate just gets pushed back in the pylon, while at the same time, the platform holding the unattached rubber plate tilts down at the front, causing it to sit crooked and not work. It overheats the pieces in the back and under heats the pieces in the front because of the gap it creates.. It's awful . The timer didn't work . The temperature begins to go down as soon as you start applying the heat plate. It ruined everything it touched . Lesson learned - I've been in this business for a long time and I should've known better but I thought for the light duty minimal requirements that I wanted this would probably be OK but it's dismal . It's beyond dismal - buyer beware - don't say I didn't warn you.

Great machine but...
Style: 5in1-15x15-Blue
Great machine for the price. Served it's purpose well but after about 4 months of moderate use, the control box malfunctioned. OK, cool. Let's replace the control box. Easy, right? Wrong. You won't find a replacement here on Amazon. Maybe not anywhere on the internet. Luckily the warranty has me taken care of. Purchase with caution and know that this control box has a 5 pin input that you're not gonna be able to replace if it breaks or malfunctions.

Excellent press at a great value.
Style: 12x10
Press works very well. Heats up quickly and timer is a great feature. Have had no issue pressing vinyl transfers and embroidered patches. Great quality for the price. Much better than using a clothing iron.
