John Lennon (1940–1980) was an English singer, songwriter, and peace activist best known as a founding member of The Beatles, one of the most influential bands in music history. With Paul McCartney, he formed one of the greatest songwriting partnerships, producing hits like Imagine, Come Together, and Strawberry Fields Forever. Lennon was also known for his outspoken views on peace, notably with his wife Yoko Ono during their "Bed-Ins for Peace." Tragically, he was assassinated in 1980. His legacy endures through his music and his message of peace and love.
