As noble men and women, players face the challenge of defending the city from external threats like Saracens, Vikings, and Byzantines. Gather workers, build fortifications, and spread faith throughout the land, all while being supported by the King’s finest knights.

The goal of Paladins of the West Kingdom is to accumulate the most victory points (VP) by the end of the game. Points are earned through building outposts and fortifications, commissioning monks, and confronting outsiders. Each round, players enlist the help of a specific Paladin and gather workers to complete various tasks. Over the course of the game, players will enhance their faith, strength, and influence, which impact their final score and the effectiveness of their actions. The game concludes after the seventh round.
