The name Hamill has been handed down through 3 generations and resides with Ben Hamill Thomson whose leadership lead to the purchasing of the Sugarloaf Creek vineyard.
This wine is produced from this premium vineyard, which is situated amongst the rolling hills surrounding the Black Ranges.
Careful consideration on parcels from the best performing blocks on the site generates a unique single-vineyard wine. Individual rows are hand harvested to incorporate whole bunch spice, and whole berry fleshy red fruits. It is fermented on skins for up to 21 days and matured in French barriques for 14 months.

HOW DOES IT TASTE?
Medium to heavy bodied with blueberry, boysenberry, cherry and plum on the front palate. The lovely, juicy front palate it coupled with whole bunch spice, dried herb, and potpourri. Good acidity, and fine-grained tannins lengthen the wine while maintaining freshness.
VINTAGE CONDITIONS
An excellent season with near perfect growing conditions right through to harvest. Adequate winter and spring rainfalls set the wines up to burst into life and sustain beautifully balanced growth throughout the summer. Autumn was ideal with little rainfall and warm conditions to ensure the grapes matured gracefully.
