Felipe Pantone’s latest limited edition print exemplifies his distinctive “Digital Glazing” technique.
This process begins with a monochromatic base image, which he colors by sequentially applying pure yellow, magenta, and cyan inks. Each hue is applied separately and distributed randomly across the paper. As these translucent layers overlap, they create unexpected chromatic compositions, showcasing the formation of secondary and tertiary colors—such as oranges, purples, and greens—from the primary inks. This method not only highlights the dynamic interplay of colors but also offers viewers a tangible insight into color theory, a concept often overlooked in everyday experiences.
A distinctive feature of this print is its inherent uniqueness. While each piece starts from the same black-and-white foundation, the random application of colors ensures that no two prints are identical.
