Origin:
Native to slow-moving streams, peat swamps, and blackwater habitats in Southeast Asia, this Betta palfina Bahiton variant thrives in soft, acidic waters rich in tannins and leaf litter. Their natural environment shapes their calm demeanor and refined coloration.
Feeding:
Carnivorous. Feed a varied diet of high-quality live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, mosquito larvae, daphnia, and brine shrimp. Small, high-protein pellets may be offered as a supplement. Feed once or twice daily in small portions.
Tank / Setup Requirements:
- Best kept in a species-specific or naturalistic biotope aquarium
- Provide dense planting, leaf litter, driftwood, and shaded areas
- Gentle filtration with minimal water flow
