50/50 whey isolate and casein for quick hits plus lasting recovery

Apollon 50/50 Formula X is a straightforward protein blend that mixes fast-absorbing whey with slow-digesting casein. One scoop covers your post-workout needs and keeps going longer. Each 33g scoop gives you about 24-25g protein from whey protein isolate and instantized micellar casein in a rough 50/50 split, plus 250mg calcium. That's what makes this stuff practical. It's not loaded with extras. It's built for a better digestion profile than whey alone.

The whey protein isolate hits fast. It gets essential amino acids into your system quick, which feels great after training. You get 2,526mg leucine per serving. Leucine is the main amino acid that flips the switch on muscle building through mTOR pathways. Alone, the whey part is solid, but here it starts your recovery strong.

The instantized micellar casein slows things down. It clumps in your stomach and releases aminos over time. That's awesome for staying full between meals, before bed, or when your next food is a ways off. Blends like this beat pure whey for that lasting feel. You notice better fullness, no quick hunger, and steady recovery all day.

Calcium comes in at 250mg per serving, which adds real support in a protein shake.

Apollon 50/50 Protein by Apollon Nutrition contains 250mg Calcium, a standard dose for muscle protein synthesis.

Key Highlights

  • About 24-25g protein per scoop — that's a real dose that helps with muscle recovery. For most guys in the gym, it means your shake actually does something instead of tasting like fancy water.
  • 50/50 whey isolate and micellar casein setup — this is what makes it stand out. Whey isolate spikes your amino levels fast, and micellar casein keeps them going for longer recovery.
  • Whey protein isolate for the quick side — it's pure and digests easy. You get a clean amino boost post-workout, better than blends heavy on cheaper concentrates.
  • Instantized micellar casein for slow release — it forms a slow-digesting clump in your gut, feeding aminos steadily. That means more fullness and better coverage between meals than straight whey.
  • 2,526mg leucine per serving — leucine kicks off muscle building via mTOR. This makes your shake count for recovery, not just protein numbers.
  • Balanced amino delivery — whey brings the fast leucine punch, casein adds slow anti-breakdown support. That's why serious lifters still love blends over hyped isolates.
  • 250mg calcium per scoop — calcium helps with muscle contractions and nerves, plus bones. It's a solid amount for athletes relying on shakes and quick eats.
  • No hidden prop blend on the proteins — you see what's in it from the data. That lets you know the real fast-slow mix you're getting.

Who Is This For?

  • Guys in hypertrophy training who want one protein for after workouts and meal gaps. Whey isolate hits fast, micellar casein lasts so you're not stuck with a quick-fading shake.
  • Strength folks with packed days who can't eat right after lifting. 24-25g from this blend gives quick recovery and time till your next meal.
  • People cutting who need protein to fill you up. Casein helps with that, making it more satisfying than thin wheys.
  • Early gym goers heading to work after. Whey supports now, casein covers the morning stretch.
  • Lifters eating enough but bad at spacing protein. A 24-25g scoop fits easy without forcing big meals.
  • Athletes who like clear labels over prop blends. It's straightforward whey isolate and instantized micellar casein, no fluff.

How to Use

Mix 1 scoop with 8-12 oz cold water in a shaker for normal thickness. Take it post-training for fast aminos plus lasting tail, or between meals for extra fullness over whey. Milk option thickens it up and adds cals, slowing digestion more. It's protein, not a stim, so full scoop is fine unless checking dairy tolerance. That gets you 24-25g protein to make it count. Stacks good with creatine, post-gym carbs, and micros like vitamin D and magnesium. No cycling needed; use steady for best results. Keep it sealed, cool, and dry for good mixing.

What to Expect

First 0-10 minutes: you feel the texture, how full it makes you, and easy mixing compared to other blends. No energy rush — it's just a solid protein hit that sticks better than isolates. 10-40 minutes: whey isolate kicks in with quick aminos. Over hours, casein keeps it steady, making it more filling for meal gaps. Days 1-7: easier to hit protein goals since one scoop is meaningful. Weeks 2-4: consistent use means better recovery, appetite control, and support for keeping or building muscle based on your cals.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Apollon 50/50 Formula X different from a regular whey protein?

The main difference is the protein architecture. Instead of using only a fast protein, this formula combines whey protein isolate for rapid amino acid delivery with instantized micellar casein for slower, more sustained release. That makes it useful not just after training, but also between meals or before bed when you want protein that stays with you longer.

How much protein do you get per scoop?

Available label data shows roughly 24-25g of protein per 33g scoop. That puts one serving in the range commonly used to meaningfully support muscle protein synthesis and daily protein intake goals.

How much leucine is in this formula?

Per the available amino acid profile, each serving provides 2,526mg leucine. That matters because leucine is the key amino acid signal for activating muscle protein synthesis through mTOR-related pathways.

Is this better after workouts or before bed?

It works well for both. Post-workout, the whey isolate gives you a faster amino acid rise; before bed, the micellar casein is especially valuable because it digests more slowly and extends amino acid availability overnight.

Does this product contain calcium?

Yes. Each serving provides 250mg calcium, which contributes to bone mineral support and also plays a role in normal muscle contraction and neuromuscular function.

Can I use this while cutting?

Yes, and the formula design is actually useful during a cut. The casein component tends to improve satiety compared with a fast whey-only product, so it can help you stay fuller between meals while still keeping protein intake high.

Is there a proprietary blend in this protein?

No proprietary blend has been identified from the available data. That is important because protein blends often hide the ratio of fast and slow proteins, while this product's whey isolate and micellar casein strategy is clearly the point of the formula.

Does it contain milk allergens?

Yes. Whey protein isolate and micellar casein are both milk-derived proteins, so this product is not suitable for people with a milk allergy.

Can lactose-sensitive users take it?

Some can, but tolerance is individual. Whey isolate is usually lower in lactose than whey concentrate, but this is still a dairy-based formula and includes casein, so sensitive users should assess response carefully.

What should I stack with Apollon 50/50 Formula X?

A standalone creatine monohydrate is the most logical performance stack because it supports phosphocreatine replenishment while this protein covers recovery and amino acid needs. If calcium intake is part of your bigger nutrition strategy, vitamin D and magnesium are also smart complementary nutrients because they support calcium handling and utilization.

This is Willow The Dog’s favorite toy!
There is not much that needs to be said about this, frankly, amazing dog toy find. After about 6 months, Willow absolutely loves this seemingly indestructible, soft stick toy. She was born a stick dog and has always enjoyed fetch with tree limbs, balls, frisbees…And like most dogs, loves tug-o-war and chewing. I thought I was buying a <$4 toy stick that I expected my girl would destroy fairly readily. What I actually received was something that didn’t really match the description because it had MORE features and uses than I expected. Anyway, the short of it is in the video. What she loves: Fetching: I don’t know how dogs see colors, but I can confirm that my dog finds this toy highly visible day and night. This claim is based on my observations of how she retrieves this toy compared to real sticks, yellow and blue tennis balls, a large real bone, and rope toys both night and day, as I work late, so much of my one on one time with our pup happens around midnight to 1am with no outdoor lighting so we don’t disturb sleeping neighbors as much. Additionally, I find this toy highly visible in all conditions, which would make finding it in the grass after Willow is worn out and goes inside easier, except that she loves the toy so much that she always brings it in with her. Tug-o-war: Being a soft, ultra-durable material, this toy eagerly pulls double duty as a tugging toy. Dog teeth sink into the orange material by compressing it. They do not puncture the orange part, or at least not that I’ve noticed while casually examining it, making this toy last indefinitely, so far as I can tell. The size of the stick is roughly an inch in diameter and maybe ≈14-16” long, so it is, I think, a perfect size for my medium sized Australian Shepherd’s mouth. She can grip it solidly in her back teeth, side teeth, front teeth, and even if she has only two or three teeth in just a corner, she can always get a good, comfortable grip. No sharp, jagged edges of frayed plastic to abrade or irritate the inside of Willow’s mouth, gums, or cheeks and no orange material breaks off and gets swallowed. The blue material is somewhat more rigid, like a plastic, BUT is still fairly soft and while it does show some bite marks, it is still quite durable and is, I will estimate, at least 95% intact after about 6 months of average three or four 15-20 minute sessions each week. Additionally, the size happens to be perfect for my large hands, but also feels like it is appropriately sized to be easily manageable by most people. This toy is VERY flexible and gives both Willow and I excellent maneuverability and pulling left to right and up and down and back and forth and to and fro as violently and aggressively as we can manage with out the rigidity of other objects shifting uncomfortably in her mouth or my hand. The stick is long enough to accommodate both my large hand and her mouth, even both of my hands on either end with her biting in the middle. Chewing: This not Willow’s favorite chew toy, but to be fair, it isn’t really marketed as a chew toy, so I feel the degree to which it fulfills that function is “good”, which I consider to just be an added bonus feature AND an extremely good value for the money. Anyway, she brings it inside when we are done playing outside and chews on it occasionally, apparently when she wants a break from her seemingly endless and evidently boring selection of toys, enrichment gadgets, kids, neighboring dogs, and family cats. Summary: At $4, even if your dog picks it up and walks on her or his hind legs to dispose of it immediately upon presenting it to them, it will be worth it just to see that, but if your dog loves it as much as mine, you might, like me, be so pleased with it's contribution to your dog’s life, you may start doubting your sanity when the strangest thought creeps into your head as you actually consider “refunding the seller” by sending them an additional $3.94 because they absolutely deserve to be paid more for this wonderful toy. Enjoy!

Perfect Toy
My dog loves this ! It is very sturdy, very strong, but flexible. It feels soft, but seems chew proof, even for my 100 pound Cane Corso. The stick shape is more practical than a ball; it doesn't roll off or get lost under furniture.

Good toy, strong yet soft!
This was one of my best toy purchases for our GSD! He’s a rough playing dog with a hard mouth! Toy destroyer! This he loves to fetch, tug, carry, and chew on. I never really expected it to last when I got it. Surprise! Almost two months of rigorous daily play and it’s still almost like new!

Great cost effective chew toy for an aggressive chewer
Bought multiple. Still have a few in the package because the others are still going strong. Nice heft to throw them a good distance, durable enough for a heeler that is a very aggressive chewer to not destroy them after a month, and easy to see when they leave them in the grass. Good size, Good weight, Excellent durability, and keeps their attention longer than a actual stick.

Fun toy for dogs
Great toy for my dog. She loves when we throw it in the backyard for her and so far she hasn’t chewed it apart and she’s a big chewer. It’s bouncy too which makes it even more fun to chase. Great toy for the price
