As with all wood, it's not dishwasher safe nor ideal to leave the handle end soaked in water.

I find a quick wash with dish detergent right after use is the best way to go about cleaning the axe.  There is a little bit of wiggle to the blade (perfectly normal) that allows for you to rinse out any toppings or sauce within the blade enclosure too.

Works fine on the vast majority of pizzas you'll be throwing in your oven, but anything with a very thick crust you may want to go at with a knife or a different pizza cutter, as the pizza cutter blade only protrudes out by about an inch.

The very first axe I laser engraved is still going strong after 2/3 times a week use for over 2 years now.  So these specific axes are excellent for the task.
