What makes these pieces particularly special is the exceptional attention to detail and design, which hasn’t been compromised despite their smaller size. In fact, the smaller dimensions enhance the intricacy, making the detailing appear even more refined than on larger sets.

The ebony has been chosen for its rich, jet-black appearance, with outstanding consistency in tone across the set. These sets are produced in limited quantities—no more than ten at a time—ensuring quality and exclusivity. Each knight is individually hand-carved by the same artisan, meaning all four knights are nearly identical, a remarkable achievement considering they are made by hand. Every set is numbered and certified as an authentic product of the Regency Chess Company, making it a valuable investment.

These magnificent Sovereign ebony chess pieces deserve an equally impressive board, and we’ve carefully selected one to match. This substantial, weighty cabinet features a richly coloured mahogany frame, with a playing surface composed of walnut and maple squares bordered in black for a striking overall effect. The satin finish adds protection during play, creating a visually stunning battlefield for your pieces. The base of the cabinet is lined with felt to safeguard both the board and the table beneath it.

The cabinet also includes two wooden storage drawers, located on either side of the board, each with chrome-effect hardware for easy access. The drawers are compartmentalised and lined with fabric, ensuring your pieces remain well protected when not in use. Each drawer features two sizes of compartments: the larger ones measuring 4 x 1.57 x 1.5 inches, and the smaller ones measuring 3.15 x 1.57 x 1.5 inches.

Please note that to accommodate the queens, they will have to be placed top to toe in the compartment.
