De sluiting door middel van een vergrendelingsgesp is verstelbaar dankzij de bijzondere structuur ervan die zorgt dat het verstellen makkelijk gaat, zelfs als je al op je paard zit. De haak vooraan wordt beschermd door een centrale huls en verzekert een goede sluiting van de singel. De singel werd ook uitgerust met een (afneembare) ring waaraan karabijnhaken kunnen bevestigd worden.
