Smile Solar horloges worden gemaakt door Q&Q, een dochterbedrijf van het Japanse horlogemerk Citizen. Dit speciale horloge is ontworpen in samenwerking met LEITMOTIV. De grote rode horlogekast en de wijzerplaat vormen een giraf en panda kopje, de lijkt op de nek van de giraf.De horloges zijn milieuvriendelijk omdat ze zichzelf opladen via (zon)licht - waardoor er nooit meer een batterijtje vervangen hoeft te worden - en de horlogeband en kast zijn deels gemaakt van gerecycled kunststof. De horlogekast is flink groot: 42 millimeter breed en het is waterdicht tot 5 ATM, waardoor het rustig helemaal nat mag worden.
