Amarone Riserva - Il Canovino - 2017 - DOCG

We hebben lang gezocht, maar nu de Valpolicella wijnen gevonden die we in ons assortiment wilden hebben!

En dit is een top Amarone Riserva, zuiver, vol, zwaar, maar heerlijk door drinkbaar. Hij heeft een intens robijnrode kleur.
Is warm, kruidig en heeft een krachtig bouquet met intense aroma's van kers, amandel, vanille en cedarhout.
Een volle, rijke en fluweelzachte smaak. De druiven waar deze wijn van gemaakt is, zijn:

Corvina Veronese 60 %, Corvinone Veronese 20%, Rondinella 15%, Oseleta 5%

Vinificatie: Het indroog proces begint vanaf half september gedurende 100 dagen met een natuurlijke gewichtsafname van 60% van de tros in op droogzolder.

Dan volgt en zachte persing van de druiven in december/januari, gevolgd door 30 dagen fermentatie met gecontroleerde temperatuur en maceratie. Dan volgt rijping van
100%  van de wijn 36 maanden in 30hl Slavonische eikenhouten vaten en vervolgens 12 maanden op fles.

We zijn als dwergen op de schouders van reuzen, zodat we meer kunnen zien dan zij, en dingen op grotere afstand, (...) omdat we hoog gedragen en verheven worden door hun gigantische omvang.” (Bernardo di Chartres).

Vier generaties mannen met een gemeenschappelijke grote passie voor hun werk. De vierde is Antonio met zijn vrouw Francesca.

Ze houden de oude tradities in stand, met een scherpe en nieuwsgierige blik op de toekomst.

Hun bedrijf in Valpolicella bevindt zich in een gebied genaamd Canova. Het heeft een zuidelijke ligging, met hellingen op 200/250 m boven zeeniveau.

De bodem is kalkrijk. Dit resulteert in een goede watervoorziening voor de wijngaard.

Zij houden zich strikt aan de biologische regels en gebruiken deze altijd. Net als in de wijngaard en in de wijnmakerij gebruiken ze al heel lang uitsluitend natuurlijke producten en technieken.

Better quality than the no-name brands

I’ve played with quite a few different pickleballs over the past couple of years, including several cheaper “no-name” brands, and these Franklin X-40 balls consistently perform better for me. The biggest difference is durability. These seem to hold up much better to hard hits and regular outdoor play without cracking as quickly as many lower-cost balls I’ve tried. Even after multiple games, they maintain their shape and playability better than most bargain options. I also really like the bright optic yellow color. They’re easy to track during fast rallies and remain very visible in different lighting conditions, which makes a noticeable difference during competitive games. Performance-wise, they have a very consistent feel and bounce. There’s a reason these are used so widely in organized play and tournaments—they simply play reliably from game to game. While they may cost a little more than generic brands, I’ve actually found them to be a better value over time because they last longer and don’t need replacing nearly as often. Overall, these are my go-to outdoor pickleballs now. Durable, highly visible, and consistent on the court. Definitely worth it if you play regularly.

Great Outdoor Pickleballs for Practice and Games

These pickleballs have been great overall for outdoor play. The colors are bright and easy to see on the court, which is especially helpful during evening games or when playing on darker surfaces. They can also feel a bit harder than some softer outdoor balls, especially in colder weather. Overall though, these are reliable pickleballs and definitely a good choice for outdoor play. I’d buy them again for practice and recreational matches.
