Exclusive signed edition, includes a limited edition print signed by Haircut One Hundred (750 copies).

Demon Records are delighted to announce the release of Pelican West 40, a celebration edition of Haircut One Hundred’s much-loved debut album, released with full cooperation of the band.

A 38-track extravaganza that celebrates the bright, burning, brief career of Haircut One Hundred. The group moved from being London underground darlings to chart sensations in less than six months, and within a year had disappeared into pop’s ether, leaving behind one memorable album and four Top 10 UK singles.

The set features a brand-new half-speed master from the original tapes of their debut album Pelican West, first released in February 1982, reaching No 2 in the UK and No 31 in the US, two LPs of extended versions, B-sides and special remixes, plus the first-ever release of the eleven tracks that the band were working on in late Summer 1982 for the follow up album to Pelican West, to be titled Blue Hat For A Blue Day. Although unfinished, the five instrumentals, one guide- and five vocal tracks enthusiastically illustrate what would have happened next. Includes the Haircut One Hundred version of Club Boy At Sea and Whistle Down The Wind as well as an instrumental of A Blue Hat For A Blue Day, which were all to feature on Nick Heyward’s first solo album, North Of A Miracle in 1983.

Pressed on four 180g-vinyl LPs, in quadruple gatefold packaging featuring a 5000 word note, an oral history of the time with all six members, interviewed and assembled by the set’s curator, author and DJ Daryl Easlea. Newly mastered by Phil Kinrade and cut by Barry Grint at AIR Mastering.

A comprehensive 54-track 4CD edition is also available, along with a 1LP edition of the original Pelican West album mastered at half-speed.

Great intro to for those who feel drawn to apologetics
Format: Kindle
James Sire has been a wonderful companion to many Christians who are called to use their intellect. I have been a fan of his ever since his book Scripture Twisting. Sire provides a great service to the Christian community first by identifying the many ways in which we engage in defense of the faith. We tend to think of great speakers in front of skeptical audiences, but there are many other ways in which apologetics is useful and necessary, such as when we are speaking to friends. Any time we are responding to their objections to Christianity, we can do so in a winsome and knowledgeable manner, even if we aren't an intellectual giant like Sire. Second, Sire identifies that types of personality characteristics and character traits necessary to pursue apologetics as a vocation. Of course, the primary characteristic is one of pursuing God. Included with this is some discussion about how we might recognize a calling in defense of the faith. Many pastors want to equip us in ministry, but Sire's discussion actually gets down to helping us recognize if this is our calling. Sire provides some pointers to great books on the major issues we might have to deal with. It's always good to have a book of great sources I also like the many examples he provides in his book about encounters with people, including mistakes he has made. I hope this will have a wide audience and encourage others to consider this calling.

Weak
Format: Paperback
I very weak primer on apologetics. The author is really not convinced himself; so, it is difficult for him to present convincing arguments.
