Oude, antieke landkaart van de 17 provinciën. Het westen boven. Titel in barokke cartouche met menselijke figuren en een uil rechts boven. Onder deze titelcartouche een banderol met daarin het uitgeversimpressum. Links boven een cartouche met daarin legenda. Boven deze cartouche een klimmende leeuw met zwaard; links en rechts vrouwelijke figuren. In de Noordzee talrijke schepen en een windroos. Links onder de schaalstokken. Rugzijde blank.
Oudtijds gekleurde kopergravure, uitgegeven te Amsterdam door Frederick de Wit omstreeks 1688. Vierde staat van de kaart. 
Zeer fraai exemplaar met mooie originele inkleuring.
