Getest: De ECU behaalt bij een 4 takt 3V uitvoering gemiddeld een topsnelheid van 65 a 70 km/u. Dit is in combinatie met de Malossi Multivar en juiste afstelling. Let op, dit kan per scooters verschillen! Belangrijk is dat je alle onderdelen goed monteert en de ECU correct instelt volgens het boekje.

Belangrijke tips voor de montage van de Malossi ECU:

Zorg dat je alle stappen van het instructieboekje volgt. Zo moet je na het inleren, nog 15 minuten stationair draaien en daarna nog 5 keer het contact aan- en uitzetten. Als je dit niet doet, dan zal de ECU wellicht niet goed stationair lopen of naar behoren functioneren!

De 5518205 Injtronic is Plug & play compatibel met de originele sensoren en actuatoren. Met andere woorden; de ECU is te gebruiken met de originele sensoren en elektronica. Er is na de montage in de scooter alleen een eenvoudige gasklepkalibratie nodig om het elektronische regelsysteem van de motor te synchroniseren (de TPS sensor, ‘Throttle Position Sensor’, dient gereset te worden). Dit staat duidelijk beschreven in de installatie instructies die je bij de ECU krijgt, maar we leggen het hieronder ook uit. De kalibraties en afstelling zorgen voor een duidelijke verbetering van de motorprestaties.

TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) van een Vespa Sprint/Primavera of Piaggio Zip iGET kalibreren:

  • De gashandel in de gesloten stand zetten en het contact aanzetten, het check-engine lampje zal nu knipperen.
  • Zet het contact nu uit en zet het contact vervolgens aan en doe dit in totaal 3 keer achter elkaar.
  • Zet het contact nu uit en voer bovenstaande stappen opnieuw uit met de gashandel in de volledig geopende stand.

Met deze Malossi ECU 5518205 kan je de volgende scooters opvoeren:

  • Piaggio Zip iGET euro4
  • Piaggio Liberty S iGET
  • Vespa Sprint iGET euro4
  • Vespa Primavera iGET euro4

Geschikt voor de snor en brom uitvoeringen. Alleen voor 50cc.

De luchtfilterslang is alleen passend op de Vespa modellen. Malossi heeft namelijk nog geen luchtslang uitgebracht voor de Piaggio Zip. Daarvoor kun je de originele brom luchtfilterslang voor de iGET het beste voor bestellen.

Blows Me Away!
It was time to clean out my business computers. Besides the general dust accumulation, dust builds up on the cooling fins of the CPU which can cause all kinds of computing issues. In the past I've used canned compressed air, which works well, but is getting expensive and doesn't last long. I spotted this on Amazon and, after watching the videos, decided to give it a try. I'm very glad I did! The Wolfbox works just as well, if not better, than the canned air! In fact, it blew out some dust bunnies the canned air had missed! Canned air runs out quickly and loses power as the pressure decreases, leaving you with an empty can that needs to be recycled. The Wolfbox is rechargeable. After fully charging it I used it intermittently for about 15 minutes and it was still showing a full charge. This amount of use would translate into 2-3 cans of air. So many things today are slapped together with little thought given to their design. The Wolfbox, however, seems to be well thought out and designed. The Wolfbox includes several different nozzles to direct and concentrate the air stream. To turn it on, just press and hold the small orange button on the back of the handle. There is a 4 led charge indicator on the side of the handle that lights up. Then, simply aim the Wolfbox and pull the trigger. It's just that simple! If you finish the job and forget to turn it off, it will turn itself off after a couple of minutes to save the battery charge. This charge indicator also works during the charging process, flashing while charging and solid when fully charged. This was discounted to about $40, and that price helped me make the decision to try it. There apparently is a "New and Improved!" version now available at a higher price which promises more power. But this Wolfbox easily met my needs and exceeded my expectations. If you used cans of compressed air this will pay for itself in a reasonable amount of time and will not leave you with a bunch of empty cans to recycle.

A great engineering calculator

I am an electrical engineering professor. it is a struggle to find an inexpensive calculator to recommend to students that can handle complex matrices! There are other engineering calculators that I like much more than the 9750 (such as the hp-prime (my favorite) or the Casio fx-cg50) but this is the least expensive of the calculators I consider "engineering capable". I didn't mention the TI 84 because it handles complex math very poorly, and requires "Euler entry" of polar numbers. The TI-Nspire can do it all, but has way too many menu levels to get anything done. The 9750 doesn't support CAS mode, and the graphing capabilities are tedious, slow, and poor resolution, but as an engineering calculator I rate it highly because of the complex math and matrix capabilities. I like the larger "graphing" screen for showing larger matrices (not for graphing).
