Sterkte en stabiliteit

Dankzij de grote afmetingen en hoge draagkracht is deze balk uitermate geschikt voor dragende constructies. Het hout blijft stabiel en behoudt zijn vorm, zelfs bij langdurige belasting.

Weerbestendigheid en onderhoud

Douglas hout is van nature bestand tegen vocht en weersinvloeden. Zonder behandeling zal het na verloop van tijd vergrijzen. Voor een langere levensduur kan een beits of olie worden aangebracht om het hout te beschermen tegen vocht en UV-straling.

Toepassingen

Ideaal voor draagconstructies van overkappingen, pergola’s, veranda’s en andere stevige bouwprojecten waar extra sterkte vereist is.

Verwerking en montage

Voor een stevige montage wordt het gebruik van RVS schroeven of houtverbindingen aanbevolen om verkleuring te voorkomen. Schroefgaten dienen te worden voorgeboord om splijten te voorkomen. Hout werkt onder invloed van temperatuur en vocht, waardoor lichte krimp of uitzetting mogelijk is.
