Gaston Hochar maakte zijn droom waar toen hij in 1930 terugkeerde uit Bordeaux en zijn eigen wijnproductieproject opzette in Ghariz, een stad op 25 km van Beiroet (Libanon). In hun tijd hadden zowel de Feniciërs als de Romeinen dit gebied geïdentificeerd als een ideale plek om wijnen van grote complexiteit en intensiteit te maken. Dit werd algemeen bekend toen Musar werd beschouwd als de beste wijn op de Bristol Wine Fair in 1979. Château Musar wordt nu gerund door de kleinkinderen van de oprichter. Château Musar Blanc is afkomstig van twee oude inheemse variëteiten die groeien in de Bekaa-vallei. De Obaideh-variëteit groeit aan de voet van de heuvel op rotsachtige en kalkrijke bodems en de Merwah wordt op de heuvel geplant op kalkrijke grindbodems op een hoogte van 1.400 meter. Daar ontvangen de druiven veel zon en koele nachten, deze koele nachten zorgen voor frisheid en stevigheid in de wijn. Ze worden op traditionele wijze geteeld en de oogst is laag, maar van hoge kwaliteit.Jaren flesrijping ten goede van Chateau Musar Wit
In de wijnmakerij gisten de Château Musar Blanc-druiven in vaten gemaakt met eikenhout uit het bos van Nevers en laten ze 9 maanden rusten. Zodra de wijn klaar is, wordt hij gebotteld en in de kelder bewaard. Het is 7 jaar na de oogst klaar voor verkoop. De stijl wordt omschreven als Sauternes of een rijpe Grave, daar zit wel iets in maar door de zeer lange fles rijping in de kelders van Musar ontwikkeld deze Chateau Musar Wit nog verder. Na de flesrijping kan de wijn zelfs nog een dikke 10 jaar worden bewaard, een uniek stukje werk hoor! Château Musar Blanc is een wijn in Libanese stijl en een van de beste ter wereld. In de geur heeft deze witte Chateau Musar aroma's van citrus met honingnuances. Mooi rijp en ontwikkeld in de smaak, heerlijk honingachtig en rijk met tonen van mango, noten, heerlijk exotisch, intens, met een bitter in de finale. Greatest watch I've ever had, but changing batteries is near impossible

This is the 3rd time I've bought this watch. Same brand, same or very similar model. It has a chronometer, timer, alarm, and of course the clock. It has something I think is for "occasions" but I don't know what it does and don't really care about it. The watch is durable. It uses battery power efficiently. The indiglo is second to none. I just really really like this watch.
Having said all that, if you want to change the batteries, good luck, you'll need it. Once you manage to get the backing off of it and open it up (which is a little tricky in itself), it's like a comedy routine where you see some stooge open an electrical device and a buncha parts and springs go flying everywhere. And of course, they are so tiny, you'll never find them once they fly out. That was the exact scenario I found myself in the last time I tried to change the battery. It made me so mad I actually bought another brand of watch that I thoroughly researched. But that watch DIDN'T use battery power efficiently, and it had a host of other minor problems that added up to the conclusion that it was not nearly as great as this Timex. So, for the 3rd time, I found myself buying this Timex watch.
So it's a wonderful watch in every way except longevity because changing the batteries has historically been a nightmare for me.

A better Ironman design

I've been a fan of Timex watches for most of my life, paying about $30 for one in the 1960s, and that hasn't changed at all in 2010 because I'm still paying about $30 for my Timex watches. It is a rare case indeed when the quality of a product continually improves over several decades while the price remains the same. And as John Cameron Swayze would say in those live ads during the early years of TV, "Timex takes a lickin and keeps on tickin".
The MEGA deserves a good review after I have been using it for a while. You might also see it advertized as the "Oversize" because most distinctive about this design is its size, so tagging it with the name MEGA is entirely justified. It is massive in comparison to most of the other Ironman series of watches, and what seemed at first to be just another unnecessary Ironman 30 Lap design has turned out to be one of my favorites for all-around wearing. This new design keeps the clockworks of the standard size 30 Lap Ironman watches, it counts up and down, programs the same, has several alarms, and of course, it has the Indigo night light that works so well.
This is one of five different versions of the Mega available in the USA, and the only one with a Fastwrap Velcro wristband with blue striping and a matching blue bezel. Velcro wristbands are a favorite among many athletes and when it wears out, it can be replaced with either an identical factory band or one that is made of urethane rubber.
Overall, the Mega is a good choice for runners in need of a new 30 lap Ironman who can appreciate having a watch that is distinctively larger and what I would consider to be much better in appearances over the others of standard or mid size Ironman dimensions.

this is the perfect daily everyday use digital watch........

hands down the best edc digital watch available, this watch is everything you need at a quarter of the cost of other digital watches. we all know the durability of iron man watches its legendary, but where this watch beats even other iron man offerings is the size of the digital numbers displayed a bit larger for aging eyes and what makes it even more durable than the other iron man watch's is that the instructional labeling of the buttons is under the glass and wont fade or rub off under use making it look cleaner and newer for longer. now lets mention the size or foot print of this watch, i own several watches from competing brands and almost once a day i hit the watch on something a door knob a table corner, but when I'm wearing this Timex 40mm i never hit it on anything due to the thinness of the watch.
