Over Taupenot Merme

Domaine Taupenot-Merme is gelegen in het hart van de prestigieuze Bourgogne en vindt zijn oorsprong in het dorp Morey-Saint-Denis. Hoewel het domein in 1963 officieel werd opgericht na het huwelijk van Jean Taupenot en Denise Merme, gaat de familiegeschiedenis in de wijnbouw terug tot de 18e eeuw. Vandaag de dag wordt het domein beheerd door de zevende generatie, Virginie en Romain, en omvat het 19 hectare aan wijngaarden met appellaties in Pinot Noir en Chardonnay. De wijnen onderscheiden zich door hun finesse en complexiteit, dankzij een combinatie van terroirgericht werken en minimale interventie in de kelder.

Vinificatie

De met de hand geoogste Aligoté-druiven worden zachtjes geperst met een pneumatische pers. De most wordt vervolgens gekoeld tot 12°C en na 24 uur geklaard. De alcoholische gisting vindt plaats in temperatuurgecontroleerde inox cuves met inheemse gisten. Daarna rijpt de wijn ongeveer 10 maanden op fijne lies, zonder overheveling, om frisheid en fruit te behouden.

Hand size mighty grinder

Hi- I think this is a good grinder although to this point I ground about 2/3 of the glass chamber full of a good quality peppercorn. I like a coarse grind and this device gives that grind consistently. I like the cover and it's fit. The overall look is pleasing and think it's a good bang for the buck. It's easy to use and adjusts to your personal needs or wants. If your debating this device and am worried if you'll get years of use I know I don't force it but rather learn to allow the tool to do the work. I think it will last me for quite a while and even if I have to replace it once a year it's a well built unit that you can enjoy using. If you have arthritic hands and use this for hard products like fresh peppercorns or coarse Himalayan salt then treat yourself to a good rechargeable grinder (or better yet ask your children to get you one for all the great meals you make for them & have made for them !)
