CHARLIE PARKER – BIRD IN KANSAS CITY
Charlie Parker had een moeilijke relatie met zijn thuisstad Kansas City, door zowel de strenge wetten op segregatie enerzijds en de relatie die hij met vrienden en familie die hij daar had anderzijds.
Deze opnames werden tussen 1941 en 1951 voor een deel opgenomen bij die vrienden thuis, en altijd in privébezit gebleven en daarom wist niemand van het bestaan af. Parker klinkt heel relaxed op de opnames en hij krijgt de ruimte om te improviseren en hier al langzaam de jazz vorm te geven zoals die in de jaren daarna eruit zou gaan zien. Superlatieven doen zo'n release al gauw te kort, maar toch: Spec-ta-cu-lair.

Classic, chic, elegant and sophisticated without screaming that this is a designer bag. This comes packaged beautifully and carefully so that it’s protected. The strap is adjustable on both sides. The bag lives up to Michael Kors quality and is worth every penny. I need a matching wallet or wristlet NOW. Highly recommended if you appreciate designer products that have a higher price point but will last for years and always be in style.
