Vinificatie en druiven

De Statella Etna Rosso Bio 2022 wordt gemaakt van Nerello Mascalese en een klein aandeel Nerello Cappuccio, de klassieke druiven voor Etna Rosso. De wijn is volledig biologisch gecertificeerd. De druiven komen van wijngaarden op de flanken van de Etna, waar de vulkanische bodem en de hoogte zorgen voor frisheid en mineraliteit. Er wordt handmatig geoogst om de druiven in optimale conditie te selecteren. De vinificatie verloopt traditioneel: vergisting in roestvrij staal met inheemse gisten en een rijping deels in grotere Frans eiken vaten (500L), deels in stalen tanks, zodat de pure expressie van de druiven en het vulkanische karakter behouden blijft.

Het wijnhuis

Fabio en Marilena Statella zijn de drijvende krachten achter het domein. Fabio Statella staat bekend als een van de meest ervaren oenologen van Sicilië en werkte jarenlang voor Tenuta delle Terre Nere, een van de iconen van de Etna. Met hun eigen project combineren zij biologische teelt, oude wijnstokken en minimale interventie in de kelder. Hun wijnen worden geprezen om de balans tussen elegantie en de typerende kracht van Etna Rosso.

Jaargang 2022

Volgens de vintage chart voor Etna Rosso 2022 betreft dit een uitstekende jaargang met stevige tannines en een langzaam rijpingspotentieel. Dit betekent dat de wijnen veel structuur hebben en zich uitstekend lenen om te bewaren. Voor Statella resulteert dit in een wijn die nu al verfijnd is, maar die zich in de komende jaren nog verder zal ontwikkelen in complexiteit.

Wijn en spijs

Statella Etna Rosso Bio 2022 komt prachtig tot zijn recht bij gerechten met verfijnde maar stevige smaken. Denk aan geroosterde lamskoteletten, pasta met paddenstoelen en truffel, of gegrilde tonijn met mediterrane kruiden. Ook bij gerijpte kazen zoals pecorino en caciocavallo vormt hij een mooie combinatie.

Follow the template
Format: Paperback
Not much different from the 2005 ed, which was good Version 4, it is practically verbatim. The only major change I can see is the Story Template changed all of the terminology and dropped Act III all together leaving it pretty much up to the reader to figure out how to close the presentation. I prefer the V.1 template over this one. Slicker paper and color photos, and the story boarding is more developed. Following the template is key to pulling the presentation off. A good portion of the book is still geared toward a Corporate audience with the assumption that the reader is an upper-level manager with a team of employees to do your work for you. Know what you are getting into. The creation of an effective 15 minute presentation can take hours for a solopreneur. I use the 45 minute format to create 15/20 minute training videos. I will recommend this book to anyone who creates and delivers PPT presentations, can focus and stick to the plan.
