De druiven voor de droge witte Morgadio da Calçada ondergaan een langdurige maceratie op de schil. Het wordt gevinifieerd in molens, soms worden de druiven getreden met de voet. De veroudering is oxidatief, in kleine oude eikenhouten vaten in de kelders van Vila Nova de Gaia gedurende minimaal 3 en een half jaar. Verschillende wijnen worden met elkaar gecombineerd, voordat ze worden gebotteld.
