Dit zorgt ervoor dat het huisdier langzamer eet en beter kauwt. Daarnaast is het een leuke uitdaging om al het lekkers in de snuffelmat te vinden. Door het trekkoord kan de mat kleiner gemaakt worden of gebruikt worden als een mand. De onderzijde is voorzien van een anti-slip laag zodat de mat niet wegglijdt als het huisdier aan het zoeken is.
