Marco Porello is een familie wijnhuis wat al in de jaren dertig het levenslicht zag. Het is gevestigd in het hart van Piemonte, de wijnstreek van Italië bij uitstek. Bij Italiaanse wijnen denken mensen vaak direct aan Veneto, Toscane of Puglia; het is echter Piemonte die diverse records in handen heeft. Zo komen de meeste DOC en DOCG wijnen uit deze streek in het Noord-Westen van Italië. Hiermee haalt het alle wijnstreken van Italië in. Marco Porello ligt in het hart van Piemonte, en heeft in alle streken binnen Piemonte prachtige wijngaarden liggen; van Barolo tot Arneis en Barbera. De wijngaarden voor deze witte wijn zijn gelegen rondom het dorpje Asti. Deze regio heeft vooral internationale bekendheid verworden vanwege de Moscato D’Asti, een zoet-zwoele sprankelende witte wijn. Zoals bij alle Moscato d’Asti, wordt het percentage restsuiker hoog gehouden. Dit zorgt voor het toegankelijke en aromatisch karakter van deze wijn. Bij deze wijn van Marco Porello is dat ook het geval. Echter is het boeket zoet, maar geen moment te plakkerig. Hierdoor is deze licht-mousserende wijn ook een aanrader voor bij een uitgebreid dessert. Je ruikt en proeft namelijk van alles in deze Moscato d’Asti: rijpe, witte druiven, overrijpe nectarines en prachtige witte bloemen. Een toets tropisch fruit openbaart zich op de tong. I Loved It
Format: Kindle
This was my first time reading a book by Elle Alexanda, and it definitely won’t be my last! I was absolutely captivated by the Lou/Ava love story. I found Lou’s vulnerability so endearing. It was an excellent read, and I wish it were available as an audiobook. The story was a slow burn, but it kept me hooked. The flirting and banter between Lou and Ava were so entertaining. I didn’t want the story to end! Well done, Elle!

Romance with a side of Thrill

4.25 stars!
I was immediately engrossed in this debut novel, with the thrilling beginning and obvious future romance between Lou and Ava. I thought the setting of the town was wonderful, full of small charm and supportive characters. The little nods towards the continuing threat to Ava’s life were good. The budding romance was great, too! I think the intimacy scenes were soft and perfect.
The main reason this didn’t reach 4.5 stars for me (thus would’ve rounded it to 5 instead of down to 4), is because of the POV switches during chapters. They’re a bit jumbled in; the reader is suddenly seeing or hearing things from Lou when it started with Ava, but then it quickly switches back to Ava. It’s not my favorite way for a story to be shared.
I also lost a little steam towards the middle-end, right before the big finale. I’m not sure if my other hobby distracted me or if the story hit a slow spot. It’s possible I was hoping for a little more excitement. This story had more romance than thrill.

I had this on my shelf for a while. lG reviews were great, the cover was pretty, and it sounded really interesting.
It was better than I expected! Love when that happens🥰
The story was great, the writing was good, and the characters were amazing! Ava and Lou's chemistry at first was a little charged. But as the story went and their relationship developed, it turned into something more tender and very intimate. Throw in the witness protection thing, and you have quite exciting romance. I will be reading this again!
