De herder stuurt met zijn hond de schapen naar de juiste plaats. Grasland wordt kort gehouden en heide wordt gesnoeid. De wol is gewassen, maar heeft nog wat oneffenheden. Door het wol van het Kempisch Heideschaap te wassen, wordt het geschikt voor het gebruik als vulmateriaal. Het kan gebruikt worden voor bijvoorbeeld kussens, dekbedden, knuffels, etc. De lontwol wordt verkocht in zijn natuurlijke kleur en is verkrijgbaar per 100 g.
