Al op de Killerbee was ik bezig met het ontwikkelen van een dustshoe. Inmiddels heb ik al enkele jaren een Stronghold en ook daar ben ik doorgegaan met het ontwikkelen van een degelijke stofafzuiging. Omdat een dustshoe die meebeweegt met de Z as al gauw tot 10 kilo druk kan geven

Deze door BASt ontworpen Dustshoe voor de RatRig Stronghold PRO is onafhankelijk van je spindle in te stellen, waardoor je altijd op de juiste werkhoogte je chips afzuigt.

Al op de Killerbee was ik bezig met het ontwikkelen van een dustshoe. Inmiddels heb ik al enkele jaren een Stronghold en ook daar ben ik doorgegaan met het ontwikkelen van een degelijke stofafzuiging.
Omdat een dustshoe die meebeweegt met de Z as al gauw tot 10 kilo druk kan geven op je werkstuk (of tegendruk op je Z as), is dit niet ideaal.
Een dustboot die zweeft boven je werkstuk is hierdoor een stuk praktischer en werkt minstens net zo goed. Alleen wel een stuk moeilijker ontwerpen. Ik ben begonnen met een 'reguliere' dustboot met borstel, maar omdat de zwevende shoe 'om' de complete Z as moet vallen is het oppervlak vrij groot, wat naast een verminderde afzuiging ook een significante impact op je totale werkoppervlak heeft. (10 cm minder ruimte over de X as, 15cm over de Y as)

Na diverse iteraties ben ik op een ontwerp uitgekomen zonder borstel. Er is geen borstel meer nodig, want door het veel kleinere oppervlak blijft de zuigkracht behouden. Door de kleinere vorm is de kans ook veel kleiner om tegen een klem aan te stoten, maar je moet daar natuurlijk nog steeds voor waken!

Inmiddels is deze dustboot in een fase gekomen waar meer mensen hem in gebruik moeten nemen om eventuele laatste plooien glad te strijken.

Vandaar deze Early Access versie.

Zie mijn instagram voor meer filmpjes over de ontwikkeling en hoe hij werkt. Er kunnen nog kleine aanpassingen plaats vinden, maar de Dustshoe is functioneel goed werkend en stevig.

Zelf sourcen; ca 50cm regenpijp 60mm buitenmaat.

Own This Book Along With A Visit To The Museum

This book tells the story of the founding and exhibits of the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC. This book does not replace visits to the Museum. It is an excellent reference book to have in combination with visits to the Museum. The Holocaust Museum is one of the finest Museums in Washington, DC. The history told at the Museum is powerful in so many ways. My hope is that humanity can learn from history not to keep repeating the many horrific mistakes that were made during the period of Hitler and Stalin. We must always remember that most of the terrible crimes during this period were sanctioned, promoted and authorized by National Governments. The Governments of nations can and do become evil, corrupt and murderous. We the people of the world must be forever vigilant against vesting too much power in the hands of too few people. Concentrated power almost always becomes corrupt. We must learn from history how to prevent the concentrations of power in too few people. These concentrations of power can sooner or later lead to evil. Even power that is initially built on good intentions will good bad eventually. That is the nature of the human condition that we must fear that charismatic leaders will concentrate power in ways that are unhealthy and deadly. We should find ways to avoid electing charismatic leaders as these types of leaders are just too dangerous. The Holocaust happened just seconds ago in terms of the lifespan of our planet, and something like it will happen again unless we learn the lessons taught to us by history.
