Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) shadowbox ofrenda tribute to Frida Kahlo. The illustration is a print of one of my drawings – I actually did the original drawing while in Mexico. The altar is decorated with acid free paper; and paper/fabric flowers.

Ofendas are an essential part of the Day of the Dead celebrations. The word ofrenda means offering in Spanish. They are also called altares or altars, but they are not for worshiping. Ofrendas are set up to remember and honor the memory of their ancestors. I have taken to making these ofrendas for iconic actors and famous people who inspire me.

There is a saw tooth hanger on back for wall mounting.

I have two 70+lb, ball obsessed dogs (a field bred Golden Retriever, and an Old Time Scotch Collie), and these balls are living up to the abuse they're receiving. In the fall we always lose a ball or two in the yard due to getting lost in leaves or longer grass, so I always try and buy a multi pack at the start of the season, so went with these this year.
