The design of the Nighthawk is essentially a combination of an SG (with a lower bout and thinner body) and a Les Paul (upper bout).

The Nighthawk features a glued-in SlimTaper™ 25.5" scale Mahogany neck for a well rounded, warm tone with excellent sustain and a stunning Translucent Red Mahogany body with added belly scarf for comfort.

The strings stay firmly in the nut slots thanks to the headstock which is back-angled at 14 degrees. To add brilliance as well as a smooth, durable playing surface, the Nighthawk Custom is fitted with a Rosewood fingerboard, a favourite of serious guitar players for its resistance to wear. The fingerboard has 22-medium jumbo frets with mother-of-pearl "Crown" inlays.

Finally, you can cover all the classic sounds you want in one guitar. With its unique pickup package that includes a full-size NHT humbucker(bridge), a NSX single-coil (middle) and a NHR mini-humbucker (neck) combined with a 5-way slider and push/pull coil-tapping tone knob, you have 9 different tones at your fingertips. Enjoy everything between a powerful and warm humbucker to the unique clarity of a mini-HB to a thin, bright single-coil.

The Alnico II pickups are double-wax-potted to avoid microphonics at high volume and can be dialed-in with a single volume control. The master tone control features a push-pull switch to split the coils of the bridge pickup, allowing for quick and unique tone changes. The Nighthawk's nickel bridge features individual saddles for independent height and intonation adjustment, along with its string-thru body design which ensures maximum resonance and sustain.

The Premium 14:1 radio Grover® machine heads featured on the Limited Edition Nighthawk Custom Quilt provide excellent tuning accuracy and stability while Epiphone's heavy-duty output jack and long-lasting 1" potentiometers make for worry-free operation.
