The colors are a beautiful combination of light and dark browns (with a slight pinkish shade). The grain is tight and smoothly flowing. There is some gorgeous quilting and chatoyance on one face that appears to extend well into the block. This bowl blank has been air dried to 8 10% moisture content. The colors are a beautiful combination of light and dark browns (with a slight pinkish shade). The grain is tight and smoothly flowing. There is some gorgeous quilting and chatoyance on one face that appears to extend well into the block. This bowl blank has been air-dried to 8-10% moisture content. It was cut from close to the pith and does include a bit of pith-related cracking. We've stabilized this with clear CA glue. You will likely want to reapply CA glue while turning. Love it, has Velcro so doesn’t shift and when I took it out of vacuum bag thought it wouldn’t be good but after 24 hours puffed up and feels like soft memory foam. Perfect for a chair I have with a lower back. A big thumbs up
