This special edition Distortion+ was painstakingly created from Rhoads's own Distortion+, as provided to MXR by Kathy Rhoads, Randy's sister. The tones heard across his prolific career from his days in Quiet Riot to his work with the Prince of Darkness himself have been well-preserved within the confines of this sleek, two-knob special. For fans of Rhoads and all the virtuosic riffing and saturated melodies he championed, there'll be no question as to the authenticity of this pedal when it's clicked on and fired up.
Today's MXR Randy Rhoads Special Edition Concorde Distortion+ is decked in a stylish white finish with a pinstripe accent and gold knobs. The origin of this aesthetic comes from a design produced by Rhoads while flying on a Concorde jet during a tour with Ozzy Osbourne. That particular design would be brought to his own Jackson model, the Jackson Rhoads, and can be seen in Rhoads' hands in historic pictures. This MXR Randy Rhoads Special Edition Concorde Distortion+ includes an exclusive collector's booklet.
