What is a Level 2 qualification?
A Level 2 qualification is equivalent to a GCSE or IGCSE. In the case of the Level 2 Mathematics qualification the content is at a level that is above that of the GCSE Mathematics specification to allow able mathematicians to demonstrate their abilities.
What additional equipment do I need to bring to the exams?
For Level 2 Mathematics you may use a HB pencil for graphs and diagrams. You should also ensure that you have a ruler and an eraser. In addition, you should bring mathematical equipment including a protractor, compasses.
A basic scientific calculator which meets JCQ regulations is the best option for Level 2 Mathematics, if the calculator has any memory capacity this must be cleared before the exam, and the calculator should have no formulae or other information on it.
Are formulae sheets provided?
Yes, formulae sheets are provided with all exam papers
Am I allowed a calculator for all the papers?
For exams with AQA and Pearson paper one is a non-calculator paper, while for paper 2 calculators are permitted.
The OCR qualification is assessed by a single paper, and a calculator is allowed for this.
