In Citizen Marx, Bruno Leipold argues that, contrary to certain interpretive commonplaces, Karl Marx's thinking was deeply informed by republicanism. Marx's relation to republicanism changed over the course of his life, but its complex influence on his thought cannot be reduced to wholesale adoption or rejection. Challenging common depictions of Marx that downplay or ignore his commitment to politics, democracy, and freedom, Leipold shows that Marx viewed democratic political institutions as crucial to overcoming the social unfreedom and domination of capitalism. One of Marx's principal political values, Leipold contends, was a republican conception of freedom, according to which one is unfree when subjected to arbitrary power.
Placing Marx's republican communism in its historical context-but not consigning him to that context-Leipold traces Marx's shifting relationship to republicanism across three broad periods. First, Marx began his political life as a republican committed to a democratic republic in which citizens held active popular sovereignty. Second, he transitioned to communism, criticizing republicanism but incorporating the republican opposition to arbitrary power into his social critiques. He argued that although a democratic republic was not sufficient for emancipation, it was necessary for it. Fun squeaky toy that my dogs destroyed quickly

My dogs were immediately obsessed with this toy.
The squeaker and bright bird shape got their attention right away, and they carried it around the house constantly for the first couple of days. The rope running through the middle also made it more fun for tug games.
The plush material is soft enough for carrying and cuddling, but because of that, it definitely was not long lasting with stronger chewers. Mine managed to tear into it fairly quickly despite really enjoying it.
That said, it kept them entertained the entire time it survived, and the squeaker held up longer than I expected.
I would recommend this more as a supervised play toy or fetch/tug toy rather than something for aggressive chewing sessions.
If your dog loves squeaky plush toys, this one is very fun while it lasts.

Bigger than expected, but my pup enjoys it

This toy has been a great surprise for my dog. The green bird design is cute, but more importantly it’s actually held up really well to her throwing it around and chewing. The material feels sturdy, and the stitching has stayed intact even after lots of chewing, tugging, and carrying it around all day. It's bigger than I expected, but that hasn't deterred my Chihuahua. As a 2-1/2 year old with plenty of energy, she is definitely getting lots of use out of it!
What I like most is that it keeps my dog engaged — the squeaker grabs attention right away, and it’s perfect for interactive play like tug-of-war. It’s soft enough to be a comfort toy but durable enough to handle rough play, which is hard to find.
Overall, a fun and well-made toy that keeps my pup entertained and has lasted longer than many other dog toys I’ve tried. Definitely a good choice for dogs that love to chew and play hard.
