Compatibility & Fitment

This water inlet valve is a standard replacement for many General Electric manufactured dishwashers, including older "Nautilus" and "Potscrubber" series. Key compatible brands include:

  • GE (General Electric): Fits hundreds of models, including the GSD, GDW, and GSM series (e.g., GSD2100V35WW, GSD3300V35WW, GSD6900).
  • Hotpoint: Compatible with various HDA series models (e.g., HDA2100H35WW, HDA3400G00CC).
  • Kenmore / Sears: Fits select 363-series dishwashers manufactured by GE.
  • Other Sub-brands: Compatible with select RCA and Americana models utilizing the WD15X10014 configuration.

When to Replace

  • No Water Entry: The dishwasher starts and the timer advances, but the tub remains dry. You may hear a humming sound from the solenoid.
  • Constant Overfilling: Water continues to enter the tub even when the power is off, potentially causing leaks or flooding.
  • Incomplete Cleaning: Low water levels prevent the spray arms from rotating properly, leaving dishes dirty or covered in soap film.
  • Loud Vibrating Noise: A loud buzzing or vibrating sound during the fill portion of the cycle indicates a failing electromagnetic coil.
  • Leaking at Valve: Visible water dripping from the valve body or the threaded intake connection.

Installation Tips

  • Safety First: Shut off the electrical power at the breaker and turn off the water supply line before beginning the repair.
  • Accessing the Valve: This part is located behind the lower kickplate. You may need to tilt the dishwasher slightly or pull it out a few inches to gain better access.
  • Transferring Fittings: Most installations require transferring the 90-degree brass elbow from your old valve to the new one. Use thread seal tape on the brass threads, but do not use it on the plastic threads of the new valve.
  • Wiring: Note the orientation of the two wires connected to the solenoid; they can typically be connected to either terminal on this specific model as it is a non-polarized AC coil.
  • Tightening: Hand-tighten the water supply line to the brass elbow, then use a wrench for a final 1/4 turn. Do not over-tighten, as this can crack the plastic valve housing.

OK short read
Format: Kindle
Reasonable short read. Have to doubt the facts since the author writes FDR was alive in the 1950's and he leaves out the Haitian genocide in his narrative.

A fascinating read
Format: Kindle
I found Modern Africa to be a fascinating read, because, having grown up in the 80’s, places such as Libya and Ethiopia were always in the news, but I didn’t understand their backstories. Modern Africa does a great job of laying out these stories, but in a way that doesn’t overwhelm the reader. I look forward to reading more from the author! They do a great job of making history relevant and make me want to learn more!

Quick Read - Highlights Version
Format: Kindle
The author does a decent job of overviewing what took place during this time period. You will learn how many different events connect and see what caused various developments in Africa to take place. However, it was not as in depth as I would have liked and certainly could not cover everything that transpired during this time. Probably a decent survey book for high school students, but as an adult, I would have liked to see more elaboration and depth for each segment. 124 pages is a relatively short amount of space to cover so many topics. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
