Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers
- Replaces any round motor start capacitor with the same capacitance and voltage ratings.
- Commonly replaces capacitors identified as CD60 type.
- Ensure physical dimensions are compatible with your existing mounting bracket.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Designed for single-phase AC electric motors that require a start capacitor.
- Suitable for a wide range of applications, including:
- HVAC systems
- Air conditioner compressors
- Heat pumps
- Refrigeration units
- Well pumps and other water pumps
- General purpose AC motors
When to Replace
- Motor hums or buzzes but does not start.
- Motor starts slowly or requires manual assistance to turn.
- Circuit breaker trips upon motor startup.
- Visible damage to the existing capacitor, such as swelling, bulging, or leaking fluid.
- Capacitance measures outside of the +/- 20% tolerance range when tested with a multimeter.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect all electrical power to the equipment before beginning installation.
- Carefully discharge the old capacitor by shorting the terminals with an insulated tool.
- Verify the uF/MFD and VAC ratings of the new capacitor match the specifications of the original part.
- Note the wire placement on the old capacitor before disconnecting.
- As an AC capacitor, it is not polarized; wires can be connected to either terminal.
