1947年にTRIFARIの広告に掲載された、"Goldenbraid(金髪の三つ編み)"ネックレス。PAT PEND(特許出願)の刻印がある貴重な一品です。

広告にはラプンツェルの物語の一節が引用され、"(中略)...never did she dream that her wondrous braid would be immortalized anew by TRIFARI. (彼女はその世にも美しい三つ編みが、TRIFARIによって新たに不朽のものとなるとは、夢にも思わなかったでしょう。)"と記されています。

金髪の三つ編みがモチーフとなったこの作品は、当時TRIFARAIが語ったとおり、75年経った現在も美しい状態で残っています。

上品なゴールドの光沢とゆるやかなに波打つような曲線が、金色の髪が美しく編まれた様を想像させるデザイン。

メタルはデコルテのカーブに滑らかに沿い、肌にしなやかにフィットする着け心地。留め具は、ネックレスの流れを損なわないようデザインされています。

この先も永く愛用していただける高いクオリティと、タイムレスな美しさを備えた逸品です。

"TRIFARI PAT PEND"は1932-1954年に使用されていた特許出願(PAT PEND)を意味する特別な刻印。当時ジュエリーデザインにはコピーライト(著作権)がなかったため、特許を申請してデザインを守っていました。主にAlfred Philippeデザインのアイテムに使用されています。

メタル全体に経年による若干の色褪せが見られますが、全体的には良好なヴィンテージコンディションです。

【TRIFARI(トリファリ)とは】
1918年創業のジュエリーカンパニー。1930～68年まで、ヴァン・クリーフやカルティエに在籍していたアルフレッド・フィリップ氏がデザイナーとして活躍し、トリファリはアメリカを代表するジュエリーメーカーへと成長しました。1950年代には、当時のアイゼンハワー大統領夫人が、大統領就任式でトリファリ社のジュエリーを着用したことでも有名に。優美な曲線を用いたエレガントなデザインは、現在も世界中のコレクターに愛されています。

The magnetic closure on the case is strong. There are two slots for the iPad to sit in. They are not deep but they work fine and I have never had the iPad fall out of them. The entire case as well as the keyboard appears to be sturdy and well made.
