A charming late 19th century Portuguese yellow slipware serving bowl, circa 189s, hand thrown in terracotta and richly decorated in the rustic folk tradition of rural Portugal. The glossy ochre yellow slip glaze provides a warm backdrop for the rusty red slip-trailed decoration featuring two whimsical quails nestled among stylized floral branches, surrounded by rhythmic dotted and fan form border motifs.

Executed in the traditional vernacular style associated with the ceramic workshops of central and northern Portugal, particularly the regions surrounding Coimbra and Barcelos, where generations of artisans produced richly colored earthenware with playful animal motifs, the bowl celebrates the lively, expressive character of Iberian folk pottery. The stylized birds, warm palette, and naïve folk aesthetic strongly reflect the decorative traditions of Portuguese rural ceramics from these regions. Raised slip decoration and hand incised details create wonderful texture and depth throughout the composition, highlighting the artisan craftsmanship and handmade nature of the piece.

The glaze has developed a lovely aged craquelure and soft timeworn patina consistent with age and use, enhancing the authenticity and warmth of the bowl. Equally beautiful displayed on the wall, styled atop a kitchen island, or used as a serving or fruit bowl, this piece brings cheerful old-world charm to farmhouse, Mediterranean, and collected European interiors.

Affordably priced
I recently inherited an espresso machine and definitely needed a milk frother cup. This one was inexpensive and very nicely made. It is heavy duty and looks beautiful on my coffee bar. Works very well with my espresso cappuccino maker.

Perfect Size For Home Frothing
I put this to use right away when it came! Cold and windy day called for hot chocolate and steamed milk. I love the measurements and it is easy to clean. I’m going to try my hand at some designs with the included nice double-ended spoon at some point! 12 ounces is big enough for a latte or cappuccino. It is also small enough that I keep it on my espresso machine when I’m not using it! I find that when you’re steaming that the milk sprays out a bit, but admittedly that could just be me lack of steaming skills! 😉

Well-Made, Comfortable to Use, and Perfect for Home Lattes
Color: Stainless Steel 12Oz
This little frothing pitcher has been a great addition to my coffee setup. The stainless steel feels solid and durable, and the size is just right for making a single latte or cappuccino. The spout gives you reasonable control, whether you’re pouring simple foam or trying a bit of latte art. I also appreciated the included art pen; it’s a slight touch, but it makes practicing designs fun. Easy to clean, comfortable to hold, and does exactly what it should—a dependable pitcher for anyone who enjoys making café-style drinks at home.
