When delivered it is equipped with a slim lightweight block-off plate that is easy to remove when installing a fuel level sender unit. This spacer/adapter plate is used when placing a sender unit with the common 5-bolt pattern and lets you install the most common fuel level sender units, even if it has a wider diameter but still uses the same pattern.
