AXIS XC1311 Explosion-Protected Network Horn Speaker *

Class I/Division 1- and Zone 1-certified network horn speaker

  • All-in-one standalone device
  • Connects to standard network
  • Worldwide hazardous area certifications
  • Easy to install, configure, and use
  • Flexible, scalable, and cost-effective
Certified for Zone 1/Division 1 hazardous areas, this all-in-one network speaker system enables clear, understandable voice messages to personnel. Easy to integrate, it offers a flexible, scalable, and cost-effective solution.

Clear audio to reach your personnel – everywhere

AXIS XC1311 makes it easy for you to get scheduled, event-triggered, and live voice messages to personnel in hazardous areas, improving their situational awareness when it counts. For example, whenever a camera with analytics detects smoke or missing personal protective equipment, this smart device can be automatically or manually triggered to play a prerecorded message. Or, in response to a system alert, a remote operator can issue live instructions directly to the scene. Messages come through loud and clear – even over long distances and in noisy industrial environments – thanks to the horn and built-in digital signal processing.

A smart solution

This all-in-one network audio device plugs into standard IP networks, enabling a flexible, scalable, and cost-effective approach to system design. It’s a stand-alone unit, so you don’t need any additional hardware or software. It integrates seamlessly with the rest of the Axis portfolio and – thanks to the Axis open platform – other systems, solutions, and platforms. Plus, you can monitor and manage it from anywhere. Built-in remote health testing means you won’t need to go on-site to know it’s working, and AXIS Audio Manager Edge comes preinstalled so you can remotely set and prioritize content, configure zones, and revise user permissions.

Easy to install and configure in hazardous areas

AXIS XC1311 is certified worldwide for use in hazardous areas (Class I Div 1, Zone 1 IIC), so it can be installed in potentially combustible environments* and withstand temperatures between -40 °C to 60 °C (-40 °F to 140 °F). This smart network horn speaker is easy to install. Because it uses Power over Ethernet (PoE), it connects to the closest network switch with a single cable for both power and connectivity – no additional cabling or hardware required. Additionally, the included bracket supports both wall and ceiling mounting. It’s also a snap to set up, thanks to the preinstalled audio management software and preconfigured sound quality.

* Certified for gas environments Class I Div 1 (Group ABCD), Class I Zone 1 IIC, Zone 1 IIC, and dust environments Zone 21 IIIC (worldwide)

There are a number of regulations for explosion protection certification in different parts of the world. Always ensure that the product's certification matches that of your installation's requirements.

Hardy the poet
Format: Paperback
We all know Hardy the novelist, but perhaps he is less well known as a poet. In this volume of over 900 pages, with nearly 1,000 poems, Hardy is colorful, chatty, direct, lyrical, thoughtful, deep. And perhaps his finest quality - at least so I find - is the fact that he is down-to-earth. His poems are not "difficult" for a reasonably literate, experienced reader; and the rhyming is never forced. In short, his poems are a delight.

The other side of one of the giants of the Victorian era.
Format: Paperback
Thomas Hardy is my favorite novelist who has ever lived. I preface the review of this poetry anthology - which includes every one of the 900+ poems he wrote throughout his life, from the 1860s to just before his death in 1928 - in this way because I’m a bit biased. Hardy’s poetry is technically satisfying and nearly as moving as his novels, and you can tell that the same precision he brought to prose is on full display in his verse. I’m working my way through every single poem in this collection, and thus far my favorites are “The Convergence of the Twain” and “After the Last Breath.” There are other poets whose works I like better (Dickinson, Yeats, Wordsworth, and Whitman come to mind), but as an amateur Hardy scholar, reading this collection is positively invaluable to understand the full depth of his genius, and as always Wordsworth Classics delivers in terms of a quality paperback that should withstand years of enjoyment. I own many of their releases and have yet to find one that even slightly disappoints.
