Back in 2013, PRS guitars gave birth to the S2 Series guitars. Beginning with only three models, the inspiration for the line was simple. Give the players all of the best PRS attributes in brand new, sleek designs. That series eventually grew to more than a dozen models and is one of the most played by guitarists today.
A decade after the first S2’s were made to be played, PRS has decided it’s time for a celebration. The Limited Edition 10th Anniversary S2 Custom 24’s are new, slightly modified renditions of the original S2 builds. Keeping with tradition, they are mahogany body guitars with a maple top and 25” scale, but what makes this limited run extra special are the unique changes PRS has made - a Cuban mahogany neck, and their electronic guts. Typically, an S2 instrument would have a 3-way switch with push/pull tone control to pair with its pickups. These anniversary S2’s got the 5-way switch treatment for the first time ever in the series, linked up with USA 85/15 humbuckers. Clear as day, balanced enough to walk a tightrope, these pickups are perfect plugged straight into an amplifier, or in first in line in a pedal signal path.
By taking their own original design and making a few fun and functional changes, PRS has given us yet another dream guitar to suit any style player. There are only 1,000 total 10th Anniversary S2 Custom 24 Limited Edition guitars in the wild, so we recommend you do your best to catch one while you can.
