Citrus - Oak - Nutty

Si Vintners comprises Iwo Jakimowicz and Sarah Morris in the beautiful Margaret River region of Western Australia. They've farmed their vineyard organically/biodynamically from when they started it in 2010 and their wines are made without any of the usual commercial additives aside from a small sulphur addition at bottling, and are bottled without fining or filtration. Hand harvested grapes are whole-bunch pressed and fermented in 500-litre puncheons, whereupon the wine is blended into stainless after 12 months to settle and come together. Ada takes the classic power of Margaret River Chardonnay and winds it into a tighter frame. A surprisingly intense yet light Chardonnay with lively acidity balancing out citrus and fruit notes, finishing with a gentle nuttiness on the palate from the oak (without any of that big butteriness that Chardonnays can be known for). Good length and finesse, and not unlike Chablis.
