Fenix 3000 Lumen Tactical Flashlight - F FX-PD36TAC

The Fenix PD36 TAC flashlight is a compact LED flashlight that's about 5.5 in in length and comes with a pocket clip making it easy to carry with you. This is the perfect flashlight for law enforcement, security, and tactical users. The PD36 TAC has an impressive output of 3000 lumens. This is one bright little beast of a flashlight. With its maximum beam distance of 898 feet, this beam will allow you to see objects far into the distance. Not only is this flashlight extremely bright, but it also has many excellent features that are perfect for anyone looking for a tactical flashlight. The PD36TAC LED flashlight operates using a single 21700 battery.

Included with the PD36 TAC is the Fenix ARB-L21-5000U USB Type-C rechargeable battery. When you purchase this light, it comes with everything it needs including a USB type-C cable so you can charge your battery using your wall adapter. The battery has a charging indicator telling you know when your battery is charging and when it's finished. The normal charging time for this battery is about 4 hours and the battery has a long life. In fact, the maximum run time with the PD36 TAC using the eco output is 160 hours. Fenix always produces the highest quality flashlights making them rugged, durable, and long-lasting. The PD36 TAC is made from an extremely tough A6061-T6 aluminum alloy.

Fenix designed this light with double springs to keep the battery suspended allowing the battery to resist damage taken from external impact. The PD36 TAC itself is also impact resistant up to 1.5 meters. So this flashlight can truly take a beating and still function just fine. Between the incredible design of the tactical switch and the mechanical toggle switch, the compact form factor, and the two operation modes, the PD36 TAC has it all. It is an extremely versatile tactical flashlight that you could use for everyday carry or you could use in a law enforcement profession. Either way, we're very impressed with the Fenix PD36 TAC.

Tactical Flashlight Operation

The tactical flashlight features a very unique operating system with both a single tail switch and a mechanical toggle switch. You'll be operating the light mostly through the tail switch where you can tap the switch for a momentary-on/off. A full press will give you a constant on and a tap from there will let you cycle through the brightness levels. You can press and hold the tail switch for less than a second to activate the strobe mode. This immediate strobe gives you an extra layer of protection and the ability to disorient any potential attackers.

The mechanical toggle switch is located at the tail end of the flashlight. This switch allows you to lock the light out completely, switch between the Tactical Mode and the Duty Mode which we'll get into below, and lock into a brightness level. What this means is that if you want the flashlight to stay on the medium brightness level then you can turn the light onto the medium output, toggle to lock the output, and that way it'll stay on the medium brightness level. You won't be able to accidentally cycle through the other outputs while the toggle switch is in the lock position. It's definitely a nifty feature.

So as you can see, the toggle switch allows you to choose how you want to operate the flashlight, but the majority of the operation is going to be through that tail switch. Between both of these switches, the PD36 TAC is an extremely versatile flashlight and you can pick how you want the flashlight to be operated depending on the different situations and environments you're in.

Tactical Mode and Duty Mode

The two modes of operation you can choose between. The Tactical Mode operates only in the high brightness level or strobe mode. The Tactical Mode is for, as you can imagine, extreme tactical situations where you just need the high brightness level or the strobe mode. The high brightness level in this mode is going to be 2000 lumens.

With the Duty Mode, you have access to the rest of the outputs making this mode better for general use and on duty. In this mode you have a turbo of 3000 lumens, high of 1,000 lumens, medium of 350 lumens, low of 150 lumens, eco of 30 lumens, and finally the strobe mode. You're probably going to be using the Duty Mode more so than the Tactical Mode simply because it's tailored for more situations. However, the Tactical Mode is a great feature for situations where you only need a high output and a strobe mode to help with self-defense.

Between these two modes, you're covered for pretty much any situation. This is why the PD36TAC is an ideal flashlight for law enforcement, security, and military personnel. Not only does it offer you the quick ability to switch between the Tactical Mode and the Duty Mode, but the Tactical Mode is great especially if you're in a high-stake situation. The Duty Mode allows you to use the flashlight for everyday tasks in your profession.

The last thing we want to cover is accessory compatibility. The PD36TAC is compatible with many accessories that are already available in the Fenix line. You can pair the PD36TAC flashlight with the Fenix ALG-00 or ALG-18 gun mount. If you're looking for a remote pressure switch, the AER-05 is the perfect accessory. Fenix has a myriad of accessories that work with this tactical flashlight.

Nothing Exceptional but Gets the Job Done
Color: Blue, Size: 4.3-Quart, Color: Blue, Size: 4.3-Quart
I’ve owned this 4.5 Qt. Amazon Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven for almost two months and have used it three times to date. Upon arrival and at first glance, the gradient blue color is beautiful and super glossy; most importantly, the pot is heavy for its size - as it should be. It looks exactly like the product pictures, with a globular shape than square shape as others. Unfortunately, I also noticed that there was one pin hole and two tiny uneven protrusions on the enamel inside the pot. I own three other enameled cast iron cookware from two other brands (photos attached for size comparison) and performance wise, this cast iron by Amazon performs equally to them. The pot isn’t exceptional or special but it gets the job done. Other than the pin holes and protrusions, I have no complaints. This isn’t my first rodeo so when heating up the pot and while cooking, I have zero issues. I am starting the pan off at 4-Stars and will update my review as time progresses, or if I have any major issues with its durability or performance in subsequent months. For the amateur home cook, or for anyone who is new to cast iron cooking, below I’ve included tips that you may find useful while using this or any other enameled cast iron cookware. ================================ Regarding the 3 Photos and 1 video I've Attached: (Note: all photos were taken with an iPhone under kitchen lights during the evening. Photos have not been edited nor enhanced.) Photo 1: Size comparison of this Amazon Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven compared to three other enameled cast iron cookware that I own from two other brands. From left to right: 7 qt. Tramontina, 4.5 qt. Amazon, 3 qt. Lodge 4 qt. Tramontina. Photos 2 and 3: fresh produce shown next to 4.5qt Amazon Dutch Oven for color and size contrast. Video: 4.5 qt. Amazon Enameled Cast Iron Dutch Oven on gas stove over medium heat, with food cooking. ================================ TIPS THAT YOU MAY FIND USEFUL While Using your cast iron dutch oven: (Note: I included these similar tips in my review of a different enameled cast iron pot from a different brand. My tips can apply to all enameled cast iron cookware) 1. If you find that you have issues with food sticking, it could be that you are not heating up your cast iron pot properly to prevent undue hot spots. I heat my pot up gradually starting at low, then medium, then high heat. After my pot is very hot is when I add my fat/cooking oil. As the oil is heating up in the pot, I lift it and swirl the oil around to coat all sides of the pot that will come in contact with food. 2. Take into consideration the temperature of the items you are adding to your heated pot. As a general rule for cooking: when ever possible, ensure that the items you are adding to a hot pot are at room temperature, rather than ice cold from the fridge; this will assist with even cooking. 3. Also, get comfortable with adjusting your heat by lowering and raising it based on what you’ve added to the pot. In general, you will need more heat at the beginning of the cooking process, and less heat towards the end. If you cook by recipe, I highly recommend that you read all the steps ahead before starting, so that you become familiarized with all the procedures, allowing you to maneuver accordingly when you start cooking. 4. At the exception of searing meat to achieve a brown crust, deep frying, or when caramelizing onions, you should be stirring your pot (I recommend using a wooden spoon) every few minutes when cooking in cast iron that is placed over high heat. If you are braising on the stove at low heat versus braising in the oven, the frequency of your stirring will need to be adjusted. No matter how you’re cooking though, a watchful eye on the pot plus stirring, should both be a habit not an afterthought. 5. For all cooking vessels in general but especially for cast iron: after cooking, allow your pot to cool down completely before cleaning. NEVER immerse a hot cast iron pot into cold water, nor pour cold dish water into hot pot. You risk not only being scald by dangerous steam, but you also risk weakening the enamel, therefore lessening the durability of your pots over time. 6. This cookware and others like it from Tramontina and Lodge are economical and if used correctly, will perform well for most cooking; if used correctly, they should also last for years. Nonetheless, if you can afford it, authentic enameled cast iron cookware made in France by Le Creuset is the best way to go. Le Creuset is the gold standard in cast iron cookware and their quality is second to none. I definitely recommend this Amazon dutch oven but if you can afford to splurge, Le Creuset's reputation is stellar. As a professional chef, I've used them in high end kitchens and their quality and performance is premier.

Nice BIG enameled cast iron dutch oven. like LeCreuset but costs less
Color: Blue, Size: 6-Quart
This is nice quality, similar to the far more costly French LeCreuset brand. I was surprised how big this model is, possibly too big for my small kitchen and limited storage space. I store it in the oven. It would be great for baking sourdough boule bread.

Simple, Comfortable, and Exactly What You Expect
Style: Rack with 3 Pairs (5, 10, and 15 Pound)
These are pretty much exactly what you want from a set of dumbbells — simple, functional, and no nonsense. The neoprene coating gives them a comfortable grip and keeps them from feeling slick in your hands, especially during longer workouts or if your hands get sweaty. The coating also helps keep them from banging up floors or making as much noise compared to bare metal weights, which is nice if you’re working out at home. Weight accuracy seems fine for general fitness use, and they’ve worked great for things like accessory movements, shoulder work, lighter presses, rehab-style exercises, and general muscle toning. The shape also helps keep them from rolling around everywhere when set down. They’re not fancy, and they’re not trying to be — they’re just dependable dumbbells that do what they’re supposed to do at a fair price. If you want straightforward hand weights for home workouts without overthinking it, these are a solid buy.
