Robb Wilson is a very proud WYGULKAIP MAN Born in the small Wheatbelt Town of Narrogin on 25/09/1957, Robb and his family shifted to Mount Barker also in the south West of Western Australia where he was educated and started his working life as a shearer.

He went on to start his own shearing team and work the width and breadth of this huge country. He is married, has 3 children, and 15 years ago shifted his family to Kalgoorlie-Boulder where he helped his brother get a taxi business up and running. He also opened a Fish and Chip shop for 1 of his children to run. That dreaded disease, sugar diabetes has wreaked havoc with his health so he thought "why not", I will try painting and it has just exploded. He has sold pieces all over the world. Not bad for a man who is self-taught and has only been at it since the pandemic hit in 2000.

Living in Kalgoorlie and its surroundings can be an unforgiving, rugged experience, especially for those in the mining industry who face daily stressors such as relationships and mental health.

This collection of works by established Kalgoorlie artist Rob Wilson aims to both highlight and celebrate life in this country, from its beautiful landscapes to the people and characters that live in the WA Goldfields.

The Honey Ant This painting depicts a ‘Yurrampi Jukurrpa’ (honey ant Dreaming). Honey ants are a much-prized delicacy, considered well worth the enormous effort it takes to dig them out of the ground. The ants dig tunnels deep under the ground in ‘jirrijirrinpa’ (mulga woodland) country. Branching from these passageways are chambers (‘mingki’), from the ceiling of which the honey ants are suspended, full of food. With their swollen abdomens, the ants are unable to move.

The Aboriginal art symbol for a honey ant site is a star-shaped network of tunnels leading to the chambers where the honey ants live.

Honey ants build their nests in the soil beneath a tree or bush and camouflage the entrance with dead leaves. Aboriginal people who collect honey ants from a nest only remove a small proportion of the population for bush tucker and then close up the nest, always aware of their conservation responsibilities and grateful for the gifts of the land.

The Honey Ant is said to be the earthly manifestation of the Seven Sisters.

Further themes in Robb Wilson's artworks:

The Honey Ant is said to be the earthly manifestation of the Seven Sisters, has their own ‘Honey Ant Dreaming’, and is a bush food delicacy. The honey ant is often depicted in many Aboriginal artwork, especially those works about bush tucker. The honey ants can be found deep underground. Women will go out to hunt for honey ants, finding their underground tunnel systems and digging as deep as a meter to find them.

Honey ants can usually be found underneath a Mulga tree. By being delicate with the ants, the honey is sucked from their sacks with care to ensure the ant lives and that you are not bitten. The ant can then continue collecting honey.

 The Kangaroo

One of the most iconic animals in Australia, this is for good reason; they hold incredible cultural importance for many First Nations people. They have always been vital to Indigenous people's way of life as both an important source of food and as part of cultural rituals and Dreamtime stories.

When an Aboriginal person speaks of their Kangaroo Dreaming, they are trying to convey a profound, intimate connection they feel with that animal deep within the recesses of their soul and their consciousness. That kangaroo may be an Elder, Teacher, Mother, Father, Brother, Sister, Son or Daughter. As one might expect with any family or tribe there is a deep, abiding sense of community with all of the nuances that relationship entails.

This inexplicable feeling of kindred feelings that Indigenous peoples feel towards their fellow creatures transcends the confines of Western science with its limited understanding of what constitutes ‘knowledge’.

 Goanna – The Protector

In many Aboriginal cultures, the goanna is a Creator spirit in Dreamtime stories. Like other animals central to life, they also hold a totemic status, form part of ceremonies and feature in parables ranging from how to conduct oneself to how and when to hunt.

 Rainbow Serpent

The Rainbow Serpent (Serpent) dreaming in Aboriginal society represents one of nature and spirit's great and powerful forces. Connected to water, the Rainbow Serpent is the great life giver and protector of water, his spiritual home.

For Aboriginal people of the desert, the Rainbow Serpent lives in the waterholes of their country, and travels between them, either under the ground or in the storm clouds when a rain storm is moving. His presence brings on the rains, and if he is offended, he can prevent the rains and cause drought or inundations that cause people to perish.

Waterhole

Water sources are sacred places to Aboriginal people of the desert, and each waterhole has a Creation story from the Dreaming attached to it. The Creation story gives the waterhole and the people who are its custodians a common bond and obligation. While traditionally, Aboriginal people are nomadic in that they follow the seasons in searching out native plants and hunting native animals; they stay within their clan estates.

This territory is owned by families with intricate knowledge of Country and its resources. Waterholes found in their country are known precisely, from their creation story to the sense of whether the water will be present or drying up.

Great product
Size: 4 Panels, Color: Beige
We needed something too block off a corner of a room. I looked through a ton of different room divider options on Amazon. I’m glad I did. I’ve had it up for about up about 4 months now, and it’s holding up well. Not too difficult to put together you just got to pay attention and make sure you’re putting it together the right way. The fabric is of good quality. It doesn’t feel flimsy.

Decent room divider for a good price.
Size: 4 Panels, Color: Grey
Honestly I'm pretty happy with the product for the price paid. The instructions were relatively easy to figure out and I put it together myself in an afternoon. Looks good for how cheap it was, and does exactly what I wanted. Double check your measurements before buying, but this worked out great for me.

Great solution if you need some privacy!
Size: 6 Panels, Color: Beige
I had my family and relatives came over last holiday and I needed to provide a make shift rooms for them. I have a finished basement. I purchased 2 sets of VEVOR 6 Panel Room Divider and solved my problem. The VEVOR 6 Panel Room Divider is a practical and affordable way to create privacy in any space. It’s easy to set up and the folding design makes it simple to adjust or store when not in use. The panels are lightweight but still feel sturdy enough. Assembly needs some extra patience    Overall, a great value option for flexible and convenient room separation. Highly recommended.

Super Value
Size: 4 Panels, Color: Grey, Size: 4 Panels, Color: Grey
While not elegant, these dividers are study, stable, and made of surprisingly high-quality materials for the price. The fabric has a heavy-duty feel and stretches nice and tight with no need to individually Velcro the top and bottom in place as compared to other options. That makes screwing-in one bolt per panel section a bit of a challenge that is best done with two people. However, the results are worth the effort. Otherwise, super quick and simple assembly. The included hex wrench works OK. However, using a 5/32nd inch (4 mm) hex bit in a manual or electric screwdriver dramatically speeds assembly and disassembly. Everything fits nice and neatly back into the divider's shipping box provided one carefully preserves its packing materials and notes how the box was originally packed. Our organization ordered 8 additional 4 panel sets after initial testing of one set of panels indicated that they were an extremely cost-effective alternative to renting "pipe and drape" to support displaying and dividing artwork. We plan to use rubber backed pushpins (also available via Amazon) to affix items to the dividers as needed.
