There's always something to pour over when it comes to the Martin Custom Shop. Case in point: This Martin Custom Shop Expert 000 Sinker Mahogany acoustic guitar. Here at Russo Music, we're proud to hold the distinction of being one of a handful of nationwide "Custom Expert" dealers. This distinction allows us the opportunity to get guitars like this custom-built auditorium-style piece. Assembling with some of Martin's top-shelf materials and their trademark eye and ear for artistry, this Custom Shop model is a perfect way to feel Martin's magic in motion.

Martin Custom Shop guitars are among the most celebrated acoustic guitars being made today. This 000 model comes together with incredible Martin tonewoods and special eye turned toward construction. Beginning with a classic yet elevated combination of tonewoods, this Martin starts with an Adirondack spruce top paired with two-piece premium sinker mahogany back and sides through Martin's Modern adhesive. Adirondack spruce is a pretty established tonewood among Martin acoustic guitars with a crisp tonal profile. Sinker mahogany, on the other hand, is a different story.

This particular and pretty rare type of mahogany has a lengthy history – perhaps the longest of any tonewood you can come across. Sinker mahogany refers to a specific process of sourcing where South American mahogany logs originally downed around the early twentieth century are "unearthed" from rivers where they were naturally preserved. There's a lot of great stories about sinker mahogany out there, but just for now, just know that this Martin Custom Shop features a back and sides combination that is around one hundred years old. Together, these woods produce a rich, radiant, and resonant voice that falls in line with generational Martin tone.

The model's Adirondack spruce top is lined with a robust set of braces. Usually seen in Martin's Modern Deluxe models, this Custom model features Golden Era hand-shaped, 5/16" scalloped spruce braces in a forward-shifted X-Bracing pattern. This setup enhances the model's balance and projection for an even more vivid voice.

Brought together with Martin's dovetail neck joint construction, this Custom Shop's neck reaches out in a Golden Era Modified Low Oval profile with a High Performance taper and mahogany-colored neck stain. This neck features a satin finish that allows for a smooth feel in the palm while playing as it matches with an oiled black ebony fingerboard. Twenty Standard frets line up across this ebony with abalone Diamond and Squares Long inlays. Perfect for effortless fretting at every position, this board is a dream in every way.

This Custom Shop 000 is a veritable showcase of hardware and aesthetics. Across this model, we're met with a number of solid hardware specifications. At the base of the scale, a black ebony Golden Era Modern Belly bridge appears with a drop-in compensated bone saddle. The scale's opposite end features a bone nut and Grover nickel StaTite tuning machines at the square-tapered, East Indian rosewood-plated headstock. Aesthetically, this Custom Shop piece is elevated by an extensive suite of appointments. This model's sinker back features Martin zigzag purfling with black strips and Boltaron inlay. The Adirondack spruce top is inlaid with Bold Herringbone and features an Antique Toner top color that inches its looks softly into a more aged complexion. This Martin Custom model travels with an included Martin five-ply hardshell case.

Like so many other Martin Custom Shop pieces, this sinker mahogany model is a true showcase of Martin's musical mastery.

It's alright
Performs well on high graphics for gaming. My only complaint is that this has a lot of backlighting. The screen is very bright and not very saturated. I also don't like that you can't adjust the screen height. But other than that, a decent curved monitor.

Game changer! Literally
I use this monitor for work and I don’t need to turn my face to see the edge of the screen. Absolutely love it! Bright enough but not too much to bother my sight! Nice color, monitor not too heavy but still good quality. Lots of value in this purchase! Highly recommend to my colleagues and friends!

Monitor stopped working after a few months
I work from home. I bought 2 of the 27’ monitors at the end of April and loved them. I used them for 2 months before going out of state. I came back a few days ago, everything was working until one of the monitors suddenly went dark and it won’t turn back on no matter what I do. The laptop does detect that it’s plugged in.
