101: Beekeeping Basics
The course includes two 3 hour class sessions followed by monthly 2 hour sessions out in the yard from May to October. The goal is to give you all the tools and support you need to be a confident beekeeper!
Aimed at new or 1st year beekeepers we will go through the fundamentals so you can be a more confident and effective beekeeper.
201: Beekeeping Mastery
Do you feel you need more knowledge and want to keep learning? This program is for those who have hives of their own. We will have one 2 hour class session followed by monthly 2 hour sessions out in the yard from May to October.
Participants may purchase a jacket at a reduced rate. Each person must purchase or have their own gloves and hive tool. Other tools will be provided.
There will be additional, optional information nights where we will bring in people with expertise in various aspects of beekeeping including Pest Management, Swarm capture, Queen Rearing, Candle making and Apitherapy. There will also be a field day to a commercial bee yard to watch how the professionals do it! These sessions will be $25-30 each. Dates TBD
