Introducing The Icarus Curse, a compelling and insightful book from acclaimed author and former Belgian finance minister, Johan Van Overtveldt. This thought-provoking work delves deep into the economic anxieties and the consequences of eroding trust in civic institutions that are currently steering our political landscape toward extremism. With a keen eye for analysis, Van Overtveldt examines how Western democracies, once hailed as the pinnacle of political and economic achievement, are facing unprecedented challenges from both external foes and internal dissent. In this gripping narrative, readers will discover how the rise of global powers like China, along with threats from Russia and Iran, are testing the resilience of the liberal Western order. Simultaneously, the author illustrates how the past decades of Keynesian economics have led to what he terms 'policy exhaustion'—a condition where unrealistic expectations and escalating debt are jeopardizing the fundamental tenets of democracy and a free market economy.
Despite the dire situation, The Icarus Curse provides a glimmer of hope. By revisiting the economic philosophies of iconic thinkers like Adam Smith, John Maynard Keynes, and Paul Volcker, Van Overtveldt crafts a roadmap toward revitalizing our economic policies and restoring faith in democratic governance. This essential read not only explores the problems we face but also suggests actionable ideas for a brighter, more sustainable future. Perfect for anyone interested in economics, politics, or the future of democracy, The Icarus Curse is a must-read for navigating today's tumultuous political landscape.

Color: Blue
Blue bouncy balls were perfect for my grandson's 2nd birthday party. His toddler guests loved them.

SMELLS SO BAD!!!
Balls LOOK great and bounce fine BUT they smell SO TERRIBLE! Like moth balls. I've left them outside to air out for a couple days but if the smell remains I'll have to return. Just can't stand the smell, it's too strong and overwhelming.

Used for my dog.
These balls are great for playing fetch and at a decent price. I have a small dog (15 lbs) and she doesn't tear them up quickly. Unfortunately when we go to the dog park her much bigger friends steal them and destroy them. So buying them in bulk makes it easier to make sure we always have a ball to throw.

Balls
Color: Red
Bought them for the dog. They’re balls. She loves them.
Red makes them easier to find because dog won’t return them. She seems to like the red balls better than the traditional yellow.
