It only took Sakic two years to reach the 100-point mark, something he did three times in his six non-shortened seasons in Quebec. The way he elevated the team was also impressive, as he helped lead the Nordiques to their first playoff appearance in six years in 1992-93, his first season as captain. Sakic was the perfect leader for a young up-and-coming team who let his dominant play lead by example. He led the team to two playoff berths in their last three years in Quebec, including capturing the number one seed in the Eastern Conference in the last year in 1994-95. Hockey is still very popular in Quebec and Joe Sakic cemented his legacy as a hero for young hockey players trying to follow in his footsteps.
